So charming! Loved the concept! The round bed!! A little expensive for the bungalows, but the dorm was absolutely perfect! They would change our sheets and towel everyday! Right in front of Otres beach! Very good food! Felt very nice to be there for a couple of days!
Mushroom Point is a perfect getaway for those looking to sip cocktails and lie on a pearl white beach while paying little to no money. Staff are wonderful and vibrant. You should expect to pay no more than $2 for the 20 minute moto ride. This area of Shianoukville gets very quiet after sunset.
Staff took the time to explain that in wet season robberies were rife and to avoid anything being stolen we needed to use the safe in the room and leave items with the bar at the beach when swimming. Seems a bit over the top but its worthwhile advice - a friend got a bag stolen on a beach not far away. The hostel was lovely and chilled out. The staff were great - really friendly and helpful when we needed to split our bill 5 ways! It was pricey but worth it! Dorm rooms have the same round beds.
Great place, great food, great location - beach side, great staff, cool and relaxing environment, definitely go to Mushroom Point!
The best Place om my long long journey. Perfect for relaxing. I love this spot and also the lovely Crew.
Best hostel experience, this place is very relaxed and welcoming, staff are so friendly and the wood is unreal. Forget serendipity beach, this is the place to go.
The staff was really friendly. And the hut was right at the beach. The food was amazing, and not too expensive. Had a great time. Alas! It was only for one day.

I spent 4 days at Mushroom Point and loved every minute. From the individual, round dormbeds to the MSG free food it is a very good place to stay at the Cambodian Coast without the lager louts of Serendipity beach. Although a bit pricey, especially when having to take cost for transport into account, Ottres beach area has a cleaner beach yet still offers entertainment. All the staff, both at the hostel and beach bar, were absolutely friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable.
One of my best hostel experiences. The place itself is very unique but that is just a short part of what makes it great. The location is super close to the beach, the staff are extremely kind, and the food is absolutely amazing. I'd recommend this hostel to anyone wanting to stay in Otres Beach.
Would definitely recommend this place! Really cool and funky place to stay. Shame they have no indicidual lockers for valuables and some of the staff can be a bit short (verging on rude) at times. But they do have a safe at reception and an amazing location. And ROUND BEDS in the dorm!!
Mushroom Point was a quaint and adorable place to stay. The staff, especially Vichet and Paul were really helpful with our booking as we had a few changes but they handled it with ease. Our first night was fairly traumatic though, the bungalow next to ours was robbed, with the safety box being broken in to. The staff were quick to react though and did their best to rectify the situation and put everyone at ease. The meals are also fantastic there and we didn't want fot much.
The hostel itself is cool. The staff were a bit patronising. When I checked in, I just wanted to relax, but I was given a 10 minute lecture on how I must turn the lights off and flush the toilet properly in order to save energy. It was a bit unnecessary because most people know that anyway. Also, the water came out of the taps and showers a weird yellow colour. I also had to ask for toilet paper each time I needed to use the loo, which was super embarrassing. It felt abit like being in school.
The place was really quirky and entertaining, I really liked the atmosphere of the place as it felt cosy and welcoming.
Stayed in the dorm and it was great round beds were super comfy and the sheets were changed each day which was much appreciated. Otres beach was much niced than serendipity so I would definitely stay here over the main drag. There was a good vibe in the hostel! Staff were a bit hit and miss but overall friendly. Food was delicious Ann big portions!
Extremely overpriced for the amended facilities.
Cool place, comfy beds (the dorm is really cool) and gorgeous food. They keep the place very clean. Cafe sells happy stuff and it smells quite happy at evenings.
A nice hostel with cool dorms. A little On the pricier side.
Awsome- easier to walk to from Sihanoukville than you'd think
