Cool place. Beds are massive, round and super comfy. Gets hot at times though.

A lovely place with great people. Important to know it is not on the beach but across the road. Also ( no fault of Mushroom) very noisy neighbours!

Overall a great hostel with really groovy beds and architecture. Very clean and awesome location on a lovely beach (close but not noisy). Nice and friendly staff. Cons- electricity went out at night and the dorm (having no windows and being on the enclosed top floor) was unbearably hot. I woke up covered in sweat and decided to sleep downstairs in the lobby hammocks. $8 for a hammock is silly. Also the night security guard was asleep and woke up when I passed by and thought I was an intruder.

I stayed in the dorm for 8 nights. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The beds were comfy and big enough for 2. It's a very quiet area, which I really liked. It's way more chilled than serendipity, so if you want 24/7 party, then go there. The rooms were cleaned everyday and your bed is remade. The only problem I have is that the dorm rooms have no lockers. You can leave your stuff behind reception in the safe, but I got fed up of asking to get my stuff 10 times a day.

My friend and I loved our stay at mushroom point. We stayed in the shroomy dorm and it was so nice and different from everywhere else we have stayed, with the circular pod beds and it as really pretty! The location was perfect, just over the road from the beach and Otress Beach is really chilled... The staff were lovely and we watched love actually in the comfy communal area with everyone else the one night, which was amazing!! Would recommend to all!! Great stay :)

We stayed for five nights in our little mushroom hut. Not much space to move but this was was not an issue as the beach is so close.

We enjoyed our stay here, however if staying in Otres again, I would probably stay elsewhere. When we arrived after our nightbus at 6:30am, we were accosted by this huge, horrible dog from the hostel, snarling and barking at us (not just normal barking, but going-to-kill-you type barking). There were no staff on so we had to sleep at the beach. Very minimal comfort and facilities for the price paid. Basic, open-air bungalows for $30 a night? I think you could find cheaper and better.

Very charming bungalows with a real backpacker laid-back atmosphere and the best restaurant around! Very clean facilities and friendly, always helpful staff. Perfect for a beach holiday with good food at a reasonable price. Try to get a beachfront bungalow if you have the chance..

The hostel itself was pretty cool. I was however initially really disappointed with the staff! I had advised the hostel that I would be arriving at 7 am as I was taking an overnight bus. When I arrived there was no staff there only a night guard who spoke no english. Once an english speaking staff member arrived and I explained that I needed to check in he responded we don't open til 8 and promptly walked away. After check in the female staff member I dealt with was fantastic!
