It's a hostel you know that is run by a traveler. The staff are super. Very chillax atmosphere. Great location. Toilets are ALWAYS clean. Free breakfast and dinner (never heard of it before!).

A great hostel with a superb vibe!! Located in a converted historical building that retains its charm. Very competitive prices that blow the competition out of the water when you consider the fact that dinner is included in the price. A good mix of local and traveller staff who are of good vibe, very helpful & go out of their way to assist their customers. Thursday nights with free salsa lessons are great & hilarious! I heartily recommend Musicology to everyone - I'll be back myself!

its a nice place to stay. music r on all the time. some of the staff can sing. the staff are not very knowledgeable in terms of directions. but i do like the guitar playing and singing throughout the day, we did go there to spend NYE, but their bar was not fully stock. they have to put different ingredients in the cocktails. having free dinner is a bonus, and its actually tasty.

Pros: Hostel has great character, friendly staff, ideal location for doing DAY activities. Free dinner even (never got to eat it but that's a def bonus for those on a budget). Cons: the rooms are cold (no heat), they provide one blanket which is often too small for larger people, the common lounge area closes and the hostel becomes kinda boring at night, going out at night almost always requires cabs due to the danger of Candalaria.

Pretty cold at night, and the sheets were rather insufficient. Two nice courtyards. A bar with good food and drinks. I can't believe they serve you dinner as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is iffy. Don't walk uphill toward the mountain more than a block or so. It's a dangerous area. Security at the hostel is good-quality though.

Been welcomed warmly, really cool place with good free food, but if you still hungry, plenty of cheap and delicious restaurants around. The staff is really friendly, seems like its their pleasure to help you. Service in Spanish, English and French and lots of free bonuses. Nice view on the mountains, good place to relax with chill rooms, and lots of musicians always. Long life to musicology!

To cold, the rooms are not warms, and in the nights the hostel is to cold, in the night you need a lot of blankets to sleep hot.

Some people of the staff are very friendly, the breakfast is a little poor but the free dinner is good. It´s a crazy place... They have a bar with good prices for Bogotá. The location is in the Candelaria close to cafeterias and cheap places to eat.

I've stayed at Musicology a total of maybe 10 nights, on 4 seperate visits to bogota. Although the staff changes occasionally, I always feel welcome as soon as I walk in, and now it feels like home. The manager Eden is very nice and accomodating, and all of the staff is very available and often going out to parties with all of the guests on their days and nights off. I fully recommend this hostel for all, and I've had nothing but good experiences with everyone I've met there.
