The staff were amazing and the place is beautiful. The only down side is that that the food service e can take a long time if you are in a big group (5+) but once the food comes it is amazing. I am definitely planning on staying at Mustapha's Place again.

This hostel was the highlight of our Africa trip (Rwanda/Tanzania). Compared to Paje (about 20min walk), it is located in a very quiet area. The atmosphere the place offers is amazing - there is fire (they call it "bush-TV) every night. For those who like raggae/funk/jazz, they will have great entertainment as well. Including the people working there, to me Mustapha´s place was little Jamaica. The food is great as well!
Possibly the most tranquil place in Zanzibar!
We had such an amazing stay at Mustaphas place. We had planned to stay there for 4 days, but ended up staying there for 10. We stayed in the rooftop which was so nice. The staff was extremely friendly and we felt so welcome there.. They helped us whenever we needed anything. The atmosphere at Mustaphas was lovely, and we didnt find the same atmosphere any other places we visited. Breakfast was lovely and the staff cleaned everyday. We would love to come back we felt so relaxed after the stay.
