Very nice hostel, it's like to be at home. All the staff members are extremely friendly and helpful, rates are very good and the included breakfast is quite rich, includes fresh cheese, tomatoes, bread, vegetables, Turkish tea... Their cat Tepe is lovely, she is the star of the Hostel.

People who run the hostel are the most wonderful people you could meet. Exceptionally friendly and generous hosts, but also very interesting persons really worth getting to know. They make a cosy and warm atmosphere that obviously attract a very special kind of guests as well. It is great place to meet very interesting people from all over the world, get to know wonderful locals, hear a lot of great music, and feel at home on the other hand.

Even if staying in the most crowded part of Taksim makes it hard to sleep because of the noise of the music bars at night, Simurgh Hostel is the loveliest place with the friendliest staff we've ever stayed in Istanbul. The atmosphere is unique, the couches in the entrance invite you to sit down and have a chat with the other guests which are mostly from all around the world. If you're more like the chabby-chic type who likes easy going people around, you have the right choice with this hostel.

Loved this little place. You can't beat the location! In the middle of a busy and a cool part of town, where you also get to see Turkish people and not just tourists. Staff are friendly and happy to help and to take you out with them. This hostel is basic but cozy and very affordable. Great breakfast and loved the free chai. It is also a good base to explore the surrounding areas as it is located within walking distance from all the main sites.

The hostel is very basic but you won't regret of been there. It has very competitive prices and if you want a single room with own bathroom, I can guarantee you won't find any better deal than this. The only issues were the breakfast, which I can hardly call it like that. Was just a plate with apple, bread, nutella, cheese and olives... what kind of breakfast is that? Even milk and cereal would do much better. The staff needs to improve a little bit their english, but they're very friendly

It is the worst hostel I have never had the luck to stay in. The owner are all day long smoking inside and a persistent smell of cigarette is in all the hostel. It is in a very noisy area, from rooms you can hear concerts in neighbouring bars. There is no cooling nor heatering system in rooms. Bed bed sheets where not as clean as it should be. I do not recommend this hostel for those who want a good stay in Istanbul.

We were very happy we found this friendly hostel, in the center of Istanbul. We were left with best impressions from the staff who were friendly, relaxed and helpful. The facilities were basic in the room, but the room itself was very cozy (clean, nice mattress, good soundproofing to keep out the noise from the bars) and lots of character (nice roof views and sunset). We had access to the internet in the lounge, freshly cooked breakfast, everything to keep us happy during our stay. Thank you!

This is a basic hostel, but its much better than others I have stayed in, in Taksim. Its close to the main street in Taksim and right next to some of the busy pubs and clubs, good for night life not good for sleeping. The staff are friendly and helpful and put on a free breakfast

I really really enjoyed staying in this hostel, the stuff is just so friendly and helpful, and we really had a good time together, they even taught me some turkish and showed me different locations off the beaten track. the location is very central and near to everything.there is fast internet and laundry. i stayed in a nice dorm, felt very comfortable and secure. mmmmmhhh i liked the turkish breakfast a lot, especially the vegetable pancake. i'll definitely come back!
