Guesthouse was damp and the walls where growing mold. the mild dew smell permiadted through out the halls. Food was left under table and was attracting flies. The ceiling fan was almost falling off and was deffinatly unsafe. If you want to sleep in a dive then it's your money but pay a bit extra and go to Vang vialy guesthouse near the tubing.

The dorm was a bit musky but I got used to it after several hours. Bathroom was ensuite so that was nice. It's about ten minutes from the center so that's a bit farther away than most other guesthouses/hostels. The staff was friendly. Good value.
Older Place, nice Staff. If You love Chicken more alive than on a plate it's the Best for you. There are some around in the neighbourhood ;-)
I arrived and the security guard / overnight receptionist lead me to a mixed dorm with people sleeping in. I had booked a private room on the basis that I would be arriving late night & would like to shower etc & not disturb others. He didn't speak good enough English to quite understand but said they were full. I had my confirmation but this did not seem to make a difference. I then moved out the following morning & found accomodation elsewhere.

Not the cleanest hostel - the shower was stained and you had to hold it in one hand to shower. However, this may have just been my dorm. There were lockers, but they were not big enough for your rucksac and on some occasions my rucksac looked like it had been moved/looked through - nothing was missing. Couldn't access wifi on the third floor and there were very few powerpoints in the dorm. The mattresses were covered in plastic that crackled when you tried to sleep. You get what you pay for.
Hostel is ok. About 10 minute walk from town so not an ideal location. Rooms and showers were good. Nice staff. Not great wifi.
Friendly staff and an excellent location, a couple of hundred metres from the centre but far enough to be quiet still.

We reserved a private room with bathroom. We ended up with a room that had blood stains on the floor, no sink or trash bin and shared a window with a chicken coop. The wifi was good in the common area but non existant 10m in any dorection it seemed. It was hard to complain when we were paying 22,500 kip per person per night for the room but the basic sanitation needs were not met. There are so many guest houses with good deals, we expected better. Ours was room E by the way.
saw staff pick pocketing from peoples pockets when they were "cleaning". too much hassle with staff not knowing what was going on and giving away rooms to people that didn't have bookings
Nanas was great, the staff in particular were really friendly and helpful. The location is also pretty central. Would definitely recommend this one!
Pretty average hostel. Had to change rooms three times to get in one where the mossie nets over the windows were still in one piece / the windows shut. A good place to meet other travellers though.
We had told the hostel in advance via email that we'd be arriving at 2am from Luang Prabang, and they had our rooms waiting for us when we arrived at 3am. Rooms were clean and location just fine. We had some trouble with inconsistent water pressure in the bathrooms for the faucet and showers, it was going in and out, and at one point shut down completely (it came back a few moments later). Loved the staff though and the rooms were very comfortable.
I booked a dorm room w/ air con & they did not have it avail. Moved to a private room and had to argue to use air con. Guy asked if he could put another bed in the room if any one else comes and wanted to charge me more for the private room but I told them no. The bathroom was horrible. No cover on the tank, black/gray stains all over the toilet, if the lid wasn't down water sprayed everywhere. Booked minivan to Luang Prabang which said (behind front desk) it included a sandwich. Lie.
I really loved this place. They were amazingly friendly and it was super cheap, with all facilities. The town is small so its in walking distance of everything. Yay for nana :) Oh, and the roof has a great view of the mountains.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room we got was big but had a dirty old carpet. Internet was really slow. At the restaurant they were a little overstrained with serving breakfast by so many people leaving with the same bus. We had to wait 50 minutes for ours which was when the bus came to pick us up. Overall it was a nice stay with friendly people and really worth the money.
First of all, I made a reservation, but they couldn't find it. So I could't sleep in the room I had booked. For second, they have really bad Wifi, you have to reconnect all the time. And at last, they forgot my breakfast, even there where only two other tables. But staff is really helpful and the location is not that bad. I checked out after one night. There are many good guest houses in the same street...
