Easily the best place I have ever stayed. The owner is amazing. He puts an incredible amount of effort into helping guests and can tell you every place to visit in the area, how to get there, what to try, etc. The dinner at the inn is spectacular, the workers are phenomenal, the area is gorgeous, and the hot springs are amazing. The inn is kept very clean, in the slower season they try to keep guests' rooms a bit separated for privacy. For the price they ask for it could not be more worth it.
Can't say enough about how good my stay was. Ichiro and his wife gave great recommendations on places to go, made a good breakfast and drove me up to the Snow Monkey Park. If you want to go to the Snow Monkey Park, this is the place to be. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Did two nights here and would do it again!
Really good place to stay. Very clean and would stay again. Owners were lovely and took me to and picked me up from the snow monkey park. Only a 10 minute drive from the snow monkey park.
Our stay at the Shimaya was awesome. The free ride to the Monkey Park was very convenient and they were very timely. Monkey park 100percent recommended. Mr Ichiro was very helpful. Tip: you can take a free shuttle at 9am to Ryuoo ski hill. Then pay $2500 yen (per person) for a snow bus ride to the gondola. You can ride up with the skiers, and the views at the top are amazing on a clear day. Ride down in time to catch the 11am shuttle back to Yadanaka (don't miss it!). Well worth it for pics.
