This is a really great hostel, thanks to the staff. Everybody is incredibly friendly and helpful. When I arrived, I received tons of information about Nagasaki, including maps and discount cards. The staff also helped me to book tours. The hostel location is also very convenient, and the facilities inside are spacious and clean
Well, we were quite a bit disappointed: our double room was worn down, shower was broken (only boiling hot or ice cold), light was broken. Staff indeed was really friendly. Hot shower only from 8am (well, we had to leave before - so no showering).
it is located a bit far from JR(20min walk) but as the city is small, it is ok. It was the first time i had to due the queue because lack of facilities but i guess for a long stay this hostel is good as it is charming. Staff people are kind.
Enjoyed my stay. Location is a reasonably close walk to restaurants and social areas, and it was a good spot to explore the city from and reach transport.
Nice and clean hostel with good amenities and helpful staff. Location may look like it's slightly off with regards to trains etc but it's actually quite good because communications are good and the area is lovely. Recommended!
Hostel was close to a lot of great temples and shrines and the trolley lines nearby went everywhere you wanted to go. The staff were not only friendly but spoke a high level of English, a rare find in Japan. I only had a few grievances: Because the doors to the bathroom and shower stick it can be quite loud at night so a bit bothersome. The blanket provided was really thin and because the A/C was on I got a bit cold at night. There were no privacy curtains on the beds in the mixed dorms.

Dont go if wireless inet is a must cos it didnt reach to the 3rd floor. Staff helpful, rooms clean, beds not the most comfy ones. Old building, smells a bit but okay for few nights.
The location of the hostel is quite close to the JR station. There are some tourist spots near the hostel. The receptionist gave us a discount card and we received discount almost in every spot in Nagasaki!
A lovely little hostel, the lovely helpful staff helped us book tours and explained the city in detail for us! the place is small but cozy and clean - a home away from home!! I would definitely go back again!Thank you!
The hostel is well located in a wonderfull neighbourhood. The stuff was very nice. When I arrived they show me the facilities, give me a map with the main sight seeing spots and gave me a discount coupon. With this coupon I got 50% discount at most sight seeing spots.
Great place, it's a bit like a large multi storied house that a hostel has moved into. Nice communal area with PC and Mac's, decent range of DVD's and a good kitchen. Homely and in a quiet location.
Great location! Careful because check in closes early (8pm) but they will leave you a key if you come late! It was great that the hostel gives you a discount card for all the main museums and sights, and they also sell a day pass for the Tram, Highly Recommend! Great Air con in the rooms too (although very stuffy in all of the hallways)
Nice place, but the location is not near either train station or any of the "highlights" of the city. Very friendly staff and nice building. 10-15 minutes walk to down town. The place is easy to find from the train station, just catch the tram outside and go fo a few stops. Then walk for 3 minutes, easy to find along the small river.
Very friendly and helpful staffI. I really liked this hostel, it had a nice relaxing atmosphere and was a nice quiet place to rest. The hostel is quite close to everything, such as the train station, walking street wit nice little shops. Nice common room and kitchen facilities.
Decent place to stay in Nagasaki, well located and reasonably friendly staff. Rooms are definitely a bit dated though (building is quite old and a little run down). Bathroom and shower room smelled a bit off and could definitely use an upgrade. Overall a decent place to stay and the price is good. Also wifi doesn't work anywhere but main floor. Still, hostel has a good atmosphere and common room was fun place to hang out in the evenings. Short tram ride away from JR station.
An excellent family run hostel with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and efficient front desk where all guests are given plenty of advice on the city. It's in a great location near the tram connections to the major sites of interest, local izakayas and the rooms are clean, spacious and private. The lounge area has a kitchen and Wifi connection with Japanese style seating area for guests to mingle, drawing an variety of international travellers, for a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Grate place to stay. Place looks like hotel adapted to hostel. We had a ensuite room, really big. Very nice and HLEPFUL staf, Definitely one of the best places we stayed during our Japan trip. Weather was perfect as well. Great atmposphere and facilities. Not the newest interior but very well maintained and that makes the trick - great Japanese experience. And the city is astonishing, not very big, very beautiful, may placese to see, great and sad history.
I found the Hostel a delightful place to stay and the staff were not only friendly but genuinely interested in their visitors. I would love to go back there. I am 72 and did not feel at all out of place with youngsters; there was a range of ages staying there and a truly international flavour.

Helpful staff. Lots of recommendations of tourist attractions and local eatery's in foyer. Great walking guide with local. Kitchen and dining amazingly clean & organized. Felt happy to cook and eat a meal in there. Toilets and showers also very clean. Dorm was a little cramped but that's only if you're getting picky! Would go back in a heartbeat! Loved it!
