As the director of a local grassroots NGO, your host is able to set up both short and long term safaris and volunteer experiences for you. Popular excursions include trips to Lake Nakuru National Park, treks up Menengai Crater, & volunteer projects in hospitals, schools, orphanages, etc.

This backpackers is more like a B&B, with only a few smaller rooms, great facilities and very personal. It is based in a new gated community, up the hill with views of the lake. It is very secure and has plenty of parking. Haley, who runs the backpackers, is a lovely and interesting person. She was very welcoming, helpful and happy for us to use the kitchen and living room, wifi etc. We had a great time at Nakuru Backpackers and would definitely go back there!

We offer 24/7 booking and walk-ins are welcome. No smoking. No pets. Guests are given the freedom to come and go in the apartment as they please. Our goal is to create a comfortable living situation so that guests and volunteers can relax and enjoy all that Kenya has to offer.
