A low key place, so don't expect luxury! Great value for money, good location (central in Chiang Mai) and nice staff. I booked a good trek through them at a reasonable price! Fairly quiet when I stayed in mid April.

For a basic hostel, Nam Jai House did the job. The lack of air conditioning was a little rough, and the overall cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom left something to be desired. But it was a solid place to spend a few nights.
It's alright. My room's got no AC. Bathroom is a little old. Good staff and location though.
The bathroom was disgusting. The common area was never kept clean. The common area was very small. The overall bulding was run down and not inviting.
Nam jai was very comfortable and clean. We registered for two beds in a four bed ladies dorm and essentially got a private room with an ensuite bathroom. The girl who runs it has two adorable pugs rambo and wilson! Id stay at Nam jai again, we left because there were cheaper hostels. however sitting in an 11 bed mixed dorm i kind of miss nam jai's privacy.
Basic dorms with fans- cool enough to not need a/c. You get a locker and key for valuables.
Gates are locked at 8pm and lockers are provided. Bathroom was very dirty, had to ask them to clean it. No towel provides. Wifi is good. Staff were available only between 8am and 8pm, if you arrive after it is very difficult to contact them. If you are really on a budget, it might be okay but I was expecting a nicer stay
