A low key place, so don't expect luxury! Great value for money, good location (central in Chiang Mai) and nice staff. I booked a good trek through them at a reasonable price! Fairly quiet when I stayed in mid April.

For a basic hostel, Nam Jai House did the job. The lack of air conditioning was a little rough, and the overall cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom left something to be desired. But it was a solid place to spend a few nights.

It's alright. My room's got no AC. Bathroom is a little old. Good staff and location though.

The bathroom was disgusting. The common area was never kept clean. The common area was very small. The overall bulding was run down and not inviting.

Nam jai was very comfortable and clean. We registered for two beds in a four bed ladies dorm and essentially got a private room with an ensuite bathroom. The girl who runs it has two adorable pugs rambo and wilson! Id stay at Nam jai again, we left because there were cheaper hostels. however sitting in an 11 bed mixed dorm i kind of miss nam jai's privacy.

Basic dorms with fans- cool enough to not need a/c. You get a locker and key for valuables.

Gates are locked at 8pm and lockers are provided. Bathroom was very dirty, had to ask them to clean it. No towel provides. Wifi is good. Staff were available only between 8am and 8pm, if you arrive after it is very difficult to contact them. If you are really on a budget, it might be okay but I was expecting a nicer stay

Great wifi! Wonderful staff. Really enjoyed my stay there.

The hostel is off a quiet road only 2 minutes walk to the main road, 10-15 min walk to the Saturday & Sunday Night markets. Both David and Porn are great and give really good advice on travels, things to see, places to visit, helping with booking tours. I never once felt pushed into anything - really nice helpful people. The beds & bedding are NEW. One improvement for a 10-more attention to really cleaning the bathroom. FYI: Allergies? 2 dogs & a cat are present in the day. I would return.

Location in the centre, but in a really quite street so you can sleep very well here! The owners are great: they help you with everything and invite you to join them when they go somewhere (we saw a ladyboy show thanks to porn, really nice!!) Nice place to stay, i would defenitly come back here. Showers are the best in Asia so far!

Nice hostel! The owners (Phorn and David) are fantastic. They had tons of good advice and recommendations for which companies to use (elephant camp, cooking class, etc). They helped me (and several others) sort out where to go next and how to get there. I met a good group of people while I was there that I'll be meeting again later. The hostel is located in the city center, close to temples and markets, but down a quiet side street. The rooms were spacious enough and well maintained.
