A basic room but very clean. Rather a hard bed. Staff were reasonably helpful but breakfast not being available until after 9.00 am was irksome. I would suggest it be available from 8.00 am for early starters

Good location and very friendly staff. The common room had a nice atmosphere to it, but there weren't many people at that moment. The shower is outside, but was otherwise fine. Overall would recommend this place.
the room is very clean and comfort, but the location is slightly inconvenient, not close to subway

If you get a room ensuite, the bathroom is decent, although it has this weird damp smell, but that is common in China... The staff was pretty friendly and their English was decent. Our pillows were really dirty and old looking (as shown by the drool stains), but I've experienced worse. By Western standards, this place definitely isn't great, but by China standards, it's pretty good. I'm glad they at least give guests Wifi as opposed to Chinese hotels that make you pay a fortune for Internet.
Nice lounge area. The hostel was OK for passing through and in a good area for restaurants and bars.on the downside our room was quite bare and though the toilets were clkean the shower block was not so nice
This Hostel house is just my dream house since I was a child, it is a 20th-century-classical-Shanghai-style two storey house. If you are familiar with 20s-30s Public of China in 20th cliches by various TV series editors, you will feel you are the part of this kind of story. The house is clean enough and have a wonderful glasses house to relax at night. I will recommend this hostel definetely. Oh, it locates a little bit hard to find. But I think it is Ok since the hostel locates near bus stop
The Facilities are ok - clean, looks the same as in the pictures and has a nice lounge. However, my room was randomly was placed in front of the WC and the smell was very bad. Others were ok. Location is not the best, but not that bad I would say. Located in a cozy small street, but far from main objects. Esp far from a MTR. The Staff was very unfriendly to my opinion. At times they were rude if not unfriendly. I believe that atmosphere was not so good in the hostelbecause of this reason.

Staff were nice, location was decent if it bet hard to find at the last few yards. However I am pretty sure, based on the smell. that the bedsheets had not seen the inside of a washing machine for a good while.
Hostel staff was very helpful and spoke good English. The showers are outdoors which was fine in the summer. It was clean. The hostel is in a nice old house and there is easy access to buses.
friendly staff, lovely lounge to kick back in away from the hussle and bussle of the city, room was clean same as bathroom definitely recommend it to others
The staff was very helpful!! Thanks for that!
Was staying prior to finding an apartment in Nanjing. It was fantastic, and I still come back all the time to talk with the staff and hang out in what my friends have called "the quietest place in China".
Good hostel on the whole but a poor location, very much out of the way. The food in the bar was excellent and the beer was cheap. The other guests really let down the atmosphere all too busy watching movies on their laptops. The hostel just needs a sign by the bus stop given in its directions as it is a 2 min walk down the road next to it.
Nice hostel. Very nice design of the common areas, both inside and outside. A little hard to find at first, it's down a small alley off the main road. A Chinese kid saw us looking lost and immediately directed us to the hostel. The alley location is actually nice, though, because it's quiet and secluded. About a 20 minute walk from the nearest subway station, or 2 bus stops away. Seemed like a good deal, 150 RMB for the private double room.
Not recommended. Room door did not close properly. Away from the points of interest in the city and public transport. have to go outside to go to the showers were filthy and low ceiling. Mixed Dormitory booked and it turns out they have eventhough appear on the web and we separated in different rooms, unforgivable, staff did not put any interest in solving the problem. The kitchen is for staff use. We did not get towels that are supposed included. The air conditioner made a noise earable.
Find that hostel was a nightmare, directions are not clear. The rooms seem to be clean, but if you pay more attention, you will find surprises. Bedclothes and towels were quite dirty. Staff was not so helpful and they can't speak a good english.
Nice, english-speaking staff. Good location, nice restaurants nearby. You get what you pay, nothing more or less.
We stayed just a night, but the staff, the room and the common area was really good. Perfect to chill at the end of the day or meet fellow travellers.
The room itself was good, with a comfortable bed and locker, but the location of the hostel is really hard to find. I recommend the hostel put up some signposts; it took me over half an hour to find it, though in fact it was so close to my bus stop! Look for an alleyway leading to a café on the right hand side and a greengrocer's on the left, the hostel is right at the end on the left. The bathrooms are not bad, though in a separate block from the dormitories.
nice and small. some services that were advertised then weren't available. like train-ticket booking or bike rental. the lock the doors and leave at night, which made it hard for some to return to their rooms.
