The hostel was perfectly located, about 10 minutes from the Red Square by foot. The rooms where also really ok, BUT: The hostel was very dirty, especially the bathrooms and the kitchen where a complete mess and it was impossible to walk around without shoes. In addition, the people in the hostel where really rude sometimes, but I guess this is not the hostel's fault. All in all I think you can get something better for the same price.
The hostel was dirty, no security, no key into dorm rooms. it seems that there are many russians living there and so they treat it like there house. they were very unfriendly. there was no backpacker atmosphere. it may have won best hostel in 2007 but it is far from this. it would not reccommend it to anyone. There were people smoking in the hall ways, an eerie unsafe atmosphere.the cleaning ladies slept on the couch in the "common room" during the night. The "bar" is a vending machine!!

Are only 2 bathroons and 2 toilets for 40 people. Always dirty. Disgusting. Its not a backpackers place. 90% of the people are poorly educated russians that are living there (25 till 70 years old). And a american crazy woman 50 years. One guy of The recepcion isnt helpful and dont know speak english (glasses). The bedrooms smell to bad.
Loved the location, friendly staff, clean room. However there do appear to be long-term older guests, and there were children there too when we stayed (not sure if long-term or not). So, poor atmosphere. WiFi ok. Seems to have fallen from its former glory, but you still can't beat the location!
This hostel so many people staying for just living. And also they just use room like their own room. I felt uncomfortable when I stay this hostel. If you don't want to use hostel with living people please change your mind. But location is so nice for going to red square and so near to subway station.
Great location, great staff and great bed ! I definitely recommand it:
The staff werevery unfriendly andwhen asked a questionit seemed a majoreffortbfor themto help. Thereis only 2 showers/toiletsfor guestswhich is not enough for the 40 or so guests. They triedto get me to register my visa in Moscow eventhough I did this in St Petersburg andnas I was staying less than 48 hours in Moscow this was not required. Therewas hairin the showers sinks & bathrooms. There seems to be many guests living here & take over the common areaas if they own itstaff smoke in the stairs
Great location, very clean but weird vibe. Mainly families and local workers who seem to use this place as a home. The attached bar doesn't exist.
Location and value are top notch. Security is ok, they have cameras, and i didn't hear of anyone's stuff being taken. The atmosphere is pretty bad, there are Russians living there pretty much full time, smoking and drinking. There is a very small main room so nowhere to just hang and relax, except your bunk. Cleanliness is good, cleans every day pretty much. Facilities are small and just 2 for the whole hostel, so you might have to wait. If you are tight on a budget, this is a great place.
Cheap, fun but dirty.
