I had a stunning week, they were very friendly with me and I had the chance to meet people from all over the world... The position is wonderful also for underground, and discos and pubs for the evening. The only thing to improve would be the cleaning of stairs that give access to the hostel because it would improve the first impression of the hostel, together with wifi and computers since clients are most students and young people.

The location of this hostel is excellent, it's a simple 5-10 minute walk to red square, it's not particularly clean but that was not an issue for us. However it seemed the staff's approach to running the hostel was that the reception was their space and it led to an uncomfortable situation in which to ask questions; when we did ask, answers were sometimes wrong or misinformed. They were more bothered about chatting to each other and sitting on the computer than the well being of guests it seemed

A decent place where to stay, the location is particularly convenient: 10 mins to red square and close to some of the best clubs in the city. Unfortunetely they try to rip off your money. You will see many signs that you MUST register for like 30$ if you stay more than 24 hrs which is false, coz you can stay up to a week without it. When i asked for a taxi, they didn't call a public one and they asked me to pay 800 rubles to them instead; I refused and found one down the street for just 250 rubles.

Great location, with friendly staff once you get to know them. The hostel owner is a top bloke and happy to help you out or have a chat. The hostel could use a little maintenance especially in the showers. I also think a shoes off at the door policy could help the cleanliness of the floors, especially in winter. Having said that, its still a good hostel, and If I was in Moscow again, Id definitely stay there.

This is the most fun hostel in the world. I had some of the most amazing experiences of my life at Napoleon and I cannot speak highly enough of the place. It's not perfect, but it's got so much heart and spirit that make it addictive. Can't wait to return.

Probably the only hostel in Moscow that really feels like a hostel, with a friendly atmosphere and parties, clubs or bars almost every night. Most of the guests here are actually travellers from another countries unlike other hostels, where you find Russians on business trips. Considering all this you can easily forgive some small annoyances here and there.

There are too many rooms and very little kitchen and not enough lavatories. It is very uncomfortable that the kitchen is next to the bathroom and lavatory (there is not ventilation). The sheets and towels are very old... we recommend buy a new ones. However the location is excellent and people nice.

I would definitely recommend this hostel. Nice girls on the reception, and great location, only 10 minutes walk to the Red Square makes it good place to stay. Cheers

The hostel was decent. I have NO idea how it got BEST HOSTEL in Russia at some point. The bathrooms were pretty gross, the showers had a nice buildup of hair and the kitchen was a mess. The girl who worked the front desk had a total attitude and was unfriendly and unhelpful. There also really isnt a big hang out room to meet other people. I would say look elsewhere. It is decent, but I think there are much better hostels out there.
