Great base for exploring Berat!

89%

This guesthouse is situated in a historic quarter of Berat, which made it extremely difficult to find upon arrival due to a lack of road signs or landmarks. The owner speaks some Italian, French and German, but unfortunately not English, so it was quite futile even to call to ask for directions. However, the accommodation itself was good: great view over the river, spacious and clean room in a traditional style, and generous breakfast served by the owner's wife. A very memorable stay indeed.

Great stay. Lovely place to stay.

Overall we had a lovely stay at this guest house. However, it is less suited to backpackers then a regular hostel. The owners were lovely, very friendly and made every effort to help us. If a guesthouse is what you are looking for then I would strongly recommend this place!

Just a perfect place in the old town of Berat.

Lovely place. Very attentive and generous hosts. Free beers and advice, and Nasho even got up to chaperone us to the bus station at 4:30am!

Great view from private garden (with dovecote). Our (private) bathroom was across a "public" hallway and a bit cramped. Owner is very friendly and helpful but doesn't speak English. He speaks four other languages though - at the same time ;-)

Nasho is amazing - made us feel totally welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our room was actually in a neighbouring building, but it was very beautiful and the breakfast served by our host was the best we had on our entire trip - lovely home made jams! Thanks for everything Nasho and Family!

My stay was so nice I decided to stay longer. Nasho is kind, helpful and love to talk and tell stories about the old city of Berat, magnificient village with lots of precious and well preserved buildings dating back to 17th and 18th century and an impressive castle surrounded by thick stone walls. My room is spacious, fitted with a tv and satellite set and with pices of forniture making it more a house than a cold hotel room....the view overlook the old mangalemi quarter...definetly good value

Nasho Vruho is a wonderful 300 year old stone house in the Mangalem district. This is the beautiful collection of whitewashed houses that creeps up the side of the hill in so many photos of Berat, a UNESCO site. Rooms have all the modern facilities but are decorated in an atmospheric rustic manner. The owners are very friendly and generous; the man speaks Italian, German, French, and some English. Free breakfast includes home made bread, home made cheeses, home made fig jam, eggs and coffee. In the eve

This was mine and my girlfriends favourite accomodation during a 3 month trip around Europe. Our room was clean, tidy and delighfully furnished, with a view which looked across the river and into the Gorica quarter. The hostel itself is ideally located in the Mangalem Quarter (the oldest area outside of the citedal) and only a short walk up to the castle. The family who run the hostel are amazing and ensured we had a pleasant stay. Overall we couldn't have been happier.

My boyfriend and I stayed for four nights here and we were really made to feel as if this was our home. Such a welcoming family, and with a mix of basic Italian, French and English we managed to communicate pretty well. We were always offered refreshments like homemade lemonade and welcomed to join them in the bar and outside in the garden. This is more than just a bed for the night; if you do not like to make conversation this may not be for you, but I would really recommend a stay here.

The husband spoke little English, so we communicated in poor German. He would keep asking similar questions, but unable to remember the answers. Not sure it's due to bad memory or lack of topics. It's a little annoying that after saying I'm from Taiwan over 10 times but still being constantly asked "How are things in Korea, Japan, Thailand, ...etc like?" Or, after repeating several times that I am vegetarian, he still tried to persuade me to have lamb/chicken/pork dinner in their restaurant.
