Not a hostel. Not friendly environment. The manager was sometimes very rude with us. The deposit does not count when we pay the check out.

The hostel is well maintained and the staff is well prepared. The rooms are large and well equipped, with air conditioning, good showers, a small fridge, TV set, good beds, a table and chairs. The only things I'd improve is the breakfast. The wi-fi barely works. The place is located on a hill, so you must be aware that a small 10 minutes walking is needed for reaching the beach and restaurants. Nothing very difficult tho

Very very nice and friendly staff. Bear in mind this is a hostel so not much friend making.

Pessimo hotel. Nunca paguei tão caro por algo tão ruim. A internet não funcionava, o banheiro do quarto era horrivel, o quarto era pessimo e ainda por cima me cobraram mais da diaria, pois usaram uma outra conversão do dolar. Não recomendo!!

This is definitely not a hostel. It's a standard hotel. It is very charming, the rooms are big, the breakfast is good, but the best part is the rooftop terrace which has tons of lounge space, hammocks, chairs, a pool, and an amazing ocean view. It was great. Word of advice: DO NOT TAKE THE BUS FROM HERE TO THE RODOVIARIA. IT WILL TAKE YOU ON A ONE-HOUR RIDE THROUGH VARIOUS FAVELAS AND OUTSKIRTS. A taxi will get you there in ten minutes.

I like this hotel. The rooms in the main building looks a little bit outdated, but nice. The best value is the apartments next to it - the best place, that I stayed in Brazil. Location is OK, maybe it's not close to the beach, but close to the fun zone in the Alter City.

A bit dated and in need of a revamp, but friendly staff and decent large decent rooms made it a nice choice. It is only a short walk to the beach which is nice and full of stalls selling cairiniahs and prawn skewers. Obviously being a hotel, not a hostel, probably not a good place to stay if you are looking to meet others and party! The only thing a bit misleading is the pool, it looks much nicer in the picture, its actually v small and awkward to get into as its raised.

Ludwig (the owner) was very friendly and welcoming; however, a bit talkative (expect to hear many stories). Do not eat at the all you can eat shrimp restaurant by the beach; however, do eat at the camaroes restaurant.

As soon as we saw the room, we decided not to stay there. When we told the manager he got furious and showed his lack of social and professional skills. What you see in their pics is just the lovely panoramic view...dont know from where cause the place is dark and it feels like you´re in a prison!!

The double room asigned had all the amenities required.( air condition, minibar, cable TV etc. and the bars on the windows were installed in order to improve security which as everybody knows is not the best in Brasil. The guest were offered another room but bluntly refused which confirmed my suspicion that it was the location that did not appeal to them and were loking for an excuse to change the hotel.

Very good to meet a very helpful, english speaking host, and very sad that she was fired a few days after we arrived and replaced with someone who did not understand much english.

Owner Comment (Hide)
To find an english speaking employee in this part of Brasil is nearly impossible. This particular person was hired mainly to supervise the operations while the owners were traveling. Unfortunatly though she was good at P.R. she had no other capacities that woud justifiy her position and comitted some gross managment errors and had to be replaced with a non english speakin person until owners return.

We were a bit worried about staying in this place given the lack of reviews on HW. However, this place is definitely recommended. The rooms were huge with cable TV, air con and fridge. The staff were great despite the mix up at the start when they didnt deduct our HW deposit from the bill, this was readily fixed though! Breakfast was simple but good and the location was a 200m walk down the hill to the beach and the cool Taverna pub area just round the corner with lots of bars and restaurants.

Best value in town. Close to the beach and the nightlife zone. Big bedrooms, clean, cheap, good breakfast. 10 out of 10.

I'd like to add that his staff is incredibly friendly and gives great service. Whatever you ask, they'll do.

We had a lovely stay at Nautilus Apart Hotel. Nice rooms, good views and very clean. The staff was helpful. However we did not enjoy the breakfast very much since there wasn´t much food or choices. The rest was excellent.

i was very satisfied with hotel nautilus. the people are very friendly and helpfull. the rooms are always very clean and the breakfast was nice. 8.5/10!!!!

great location

It was nice to spend one night, there are works being done, therefore at 8am you were woke up by all sort of noises. The views were really nice!!!

The owner is American married to a Brazilian so English is spoken and also credit cards are accepted. Also has cable TV.
