This is a great budget hotel/hostel run by friendly and enthusiastic people. The hotel organises good value tours through Alladin Travel (but they do not push this tours on guests: I would recommend Alladin's tours of Valley of Kings/queens to any visitor/guest). Dont be fooled, there is no swimming pool! And the staff didnt appear to want to update their web details to reflect this!! that said, staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful, particularly Alla(din) at the front desk. Tours were easy to arrange. there is a tasty cafe at the front door, which is great (and open during Ramadan). Good location for Luxor Temple, souk shopping, and the Nile. we had to debate to get the free internet advertised too. Dont be fooled, there is no swimming pool! The staff is great : very kind, very helpful, very polite. They look like a big family, where each one do the best to make you feel at home. They also organize the tours. They have just oppened a new restaurant with excellent food and a nice ambiance for lounging. It was the real egyptian experience for me ! I strongly recommend this hostel. Les chambres sont grandes et spacieuses, le personnel est serviable et sympathique, la vue superbe sur le caire et le prix est plus que correcte Seul point noir: le personnel pousse à mettre des appréciations sur l'hotel et l'ascenseur qui vous fera ressortir vos vielles angoisses... The general manager, who is on night shift currently, is helpful and speaks great english. Nice roof deck with view of Luxor temple and cheap refreshments. Wireless internet for 10lbs. a day, great location, clean, can book day tours for you, both in Luxor, and Aswan. Rooms have AC, which is a necessity in Luxor!
