Come and be a part of the family! Definitely the best Guesthouse/Hostel in Salvador! Why? Because of the lovely staff, they are just amazing. They'll give you the best tips to make your trip in Salvador and surroundings unique!!! They know the best places in town and the places to be in every single day. We went together to the Barra beach and had a great time. They also have air conditioning rooms which makes your nights comfortable,I slept every night perfect and I still miss my room. Eva ma

We were greeted as soon as we got out of the cab. The two guys working were super friendly and helped us feel welcomed. We booked a room with a private bathroom, but the bathroom was without water. The hostel manager apologised for the inconvenience and did what he could to remedy the situation. This place seems more geared towards groups of friends and individual travelers, couples will feel at home but the activities are better suited for groups of single people.

I stayed here for 5 nights just after Carnival. The atmosphere was totally chilled which was just what I was looking for. The kitchen, although fully equiped, was very small and really only had enough space for one person to cook at a time. Having coffee available all day is brilliant!

Great little stay with Diego and the guys. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the location and breakfast was perfect for our stay. Cheers Johny K (from NZ)

For the money we paid. They could invest in some bed sheets that are not incredibly old and don't constantly come off in the night. Keep the toilets/bathroom in a slightly better condition Sort the damp problem in the dorm, not major but gave me a cough Wouldn't care if it was cheap otherwise Atmosphere was good enough

Owner Comment (Hide)
This person stayed during Carnival when prices are anything but cheap. He knew that in advance, still decided to stay and pay so complaining after is a bit not fair. Also, in the briefing we do before carnival, which he wasn't present, we explain that we cannot keep the hostel up to its normal standards, especially when comes to cleaning, due to large number of guest even though we double the staff. When people come in and out 24h, drunk and in carnival state of mind....

I thought the Hostel was very well located ! We could enjoy eating Acaraje very close from the Hostel, in a safe and peaceful place in the Pelourinho. You are very likely to visit touristic areas just walking. The staff was available to help, and welcoming. :)

The best part of Nega Maluca is the staff. They are welcoming and extremely helpful in giving recommendations of things to see and do in Salvador. If you want to go somewhere, they will give you detailed directions, and even draw you a map! The hostel has a friendly, laid-back vibe, and we met fellow travelers from all over the world. We stayed in a private room, which was comfortable. Only complaint: not being able to control the AC from within our room.

BAD!Double room at the front was noisy at night. We couldn't sleep even a couple of hours, guests were ringing the bell the whole night, also speaking loud inside and outside the hostel, next the windows.Room had humidity and smells bad.Staff was good. Not recommended!
