Nega Maluca has a strong hippie vibe to it, a comfortable a friendly welcome ! AND and fantastic breakfast. Deiago the owner is extremely helpful and spreads happiness in his wake... good location ! and some small bars just outside overlooking the water.

The best part of Nega Maluca is the staff. They are welcoming and extremely helpful in giving recommendations of things to see and do in Salvador. If you want to go somewhere, they will give you detailed directions, and even draw you a map! The hostel has a friendly, laid-back vibe, and we met fellow travelers from all over the world. We stayed in a private room, which was comfortable. Only complaint: not being able to control the AC from within our room.

Nega Maluca is definetly the best hostel in Salvador. The Staff is so nice, the breakfast awesome and you couldn´t be more central. As well it´s very quiet, no trouble with noise. I recommend everybody of you visit this great guesthouse. It´s worth every cent and minute!

BAD!Double room at the front was noisy at night. We couldn't sleep even a couple of hours, guests were ringing the bell the whole night, also speaking loud inside and outside the hostel, next the windows.Room had humidity and smells bad.Staff was good. Not recommended!

The Nega Maluca Hostel in the heart of the Historic Center of Salvador is a real experience. They provide the best breakfast we ever had in whole Brazil. The staff are really friendly, helpfull. They gave us good clues as well.

We literally only slept here for 6 hours but from our short stay the private room was pretty unappealing. However, the staff was friendly and helpful and the wifi worked upstairs and there was air conditioning. Location is safe but not in heart of the areas you would want to check out. Can't comment much more that that.

Nega Maluca is a great place to stay! I was pleasantly surprised to feel like home, everybody was really nice and helpful. The hostel is well located near to the historic center and there's always interesting stuff to do, beach is close by bus. The staff is careful they recommend good places to eat and shows, and give good advices of the places to avoid! They offers pick-up service, and can reserve trips and shows. Breakfast was awesome, included in the price. Kind people... Awesome

This place is amazing. I stayed for about three weeks and was super sad when I had to leave. The location is perfect. It's close enough to the action but far enough away for peace and quiet. The staff are super friendly. The free breakfast is great and there are a lot of spaces to just chill out around the hostel and read chat or whatever. I highly reccomend it asap while the excellent staff are still there.
