There is a small room. short bed . the shower was not so good. the breakfest was very poor. they say that the location is 10 minutes from punta del este but they forgot to mark that it 10 minutes by car. I dont reccomend about this hostel
La Barria is a funny place, apparently overcrowded in the summer and dead in the winter. We were there the week after Carnival and it was dead. Great hostel though, extremely chilled out vibe. Great art on the walls, hammocks everywhere, nice kitchen, everything you need. Owners are 2 brothers who are humorous, very helpful, and very laid back. If you're looking for chilled out beach vibe in off season check it out, if looking for party scene during the same time stay in PDE.
It's very far from downtown. The water was cold with such a little flow! Besides, the staff was not good at giving information about the city! I suggest looking up for other hostels!
A super chilled out converted home run by a family of cute Uruguayan boys. La barra is in easy reach of PDE but heaps more relaxed, more stylish
One of the best hostels on our five month trip thus far. The staff are incredible (thanks Gabo), and the hostel enjoys a really relaxed/chilled vibe. If it's a party hostel you're after, this place isn't for you - but if you're in need of simply the best Asado in the WORLD (Thanks Bo), meeting awesome traveller types, good convo into the wee hours....bingo. Facilities are all there, good kitchen, sweet bar outdoor area, nice breakfast, hammocks, beds etc... Oh and Fiscaraldo the dog is awesome!
Loved this hostel, the people who run it were wicked.
