Overall an okay Hostel for the price. But one night around 2am I came downstairs to find the front door wide open and a random man asleep on the couch, which was scary. Bathrooms were not the cleanest, there was often waste left in them, and the showers were like 20-second push-button gym showers where you have to keep pushing the button to keep it on. Rooms were okay, wifi didn't work upstairs. Free breakfast was nice.
Great hostel and meters away from the lively Killarney town centre. Perfect!
could have been more towels for dishes

The staff was real nice and helpful, not fake in any way. Even though I had a booked a mixed dorm (the only one left), the staff made sure that he filled our room with only women. I thought that was very considerate of them to offer that to me. There was drip coffee at this hostel instead of the instant coffee offered at most hostels.
clean basic rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an experience, no organisation and everyone was trying to make toast over each other it was very claustrophobic and could not wait to leave the kitchen.
I enjoyed my stay at the hostel. It was clean and the staff were helpful. They let me borrow outlet adapters and screwdrivers when I needed it. I liked how the hostel was off the street, down an alley, because at night drunk youngsters make a lot of noise in the street. I just wished the pillows in Ireland could be a bit thicker.
Room had a weird smell. The room seemed not excellent clean, expecially bed linen. At the contrary the shared bathroom was really well cleaned.
The hostel is in a great location. The four bed dorm room was tiny and I basically had to put my things in the middle of the room. There was no way to open the door without making a lot of noise and waking up everyone in the room. Security in general isn't very good. There are no lockers in the rooms and the staff just handed the keys to luggage room to people without paying much attention to who had access to the room. The showers don't have any place to put your stuff where it won't get wet.
The staff bought vegan Breakfast. Fantastico!!
A correct hostel. Rooms are not very large, too many beds for a small space. There are not enough bathrooms and toilets. Bathrooms are not very convenient, no privacy... Breakfast ok : bread, butter, jam, milk, tea...
It’s exactly what you would expect from a large hostel, lots of noise and ruckus. I thought it was fun, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, you might not like it so much. It was like staying with a large, international family. I enjoyed my stay there.
The hostel has a good, central location in town, but if you're in Killarney for the town and nightlife, you're missing out. Staff is very knowledgeable on location and things to do. Kitchen is average to small and because of the large number of groups and rooms, can be very crowded. Place was clean, has fast Wi-Fi, and parking is a short 5 minute walk away. We used this as a stopover point between Dublin and Dingle and stopped to explore the Gap of Dunloe and Torc waterfall. Lots of groups
quite small breakfast area (it's getting crowded in the morning). unfortunately there are only two showers and two toilets (in one room) per floor - it's also crowded in rush hours. you'll might have to get used to the linen (it might fail some people's sense of cleanliness). but the location is excellent, walking distance to everywhere and tesco in front. it's in a small lane so it's super quite during night. excellent staff!
Really great place, stayed here before, will stay again
I spent one night in double room. The room is quite tight, just enough space for a bed and small place for baggages. The location is perfect. It closes to pubs and resto within 2 mins walk. The staff is nice and polite.
A good hostel with nice people and a lot of potential but they really should invest in new kitchen equipment. Either it was not working or it was really used up. Also, it was not possible to open the window in the bedroom, the beds are to short for people over 1,90m and the power plugs didn't work. The air conditioning in the showers didn't work as well. Sadly, the price was too high for what we got. :/
With all the nice staff there we felt very welcome in the Neptune's! We got a lot of advice how to spend our time in Killarny and around - and never forget: you can join them on trips to Gap of Dunloe, Ring of Kerry and Dingle on any day. People there seemed to be very relaxed and we like the atmosphere during morning breakfasts (including hot and much coffee!). Accomodation was clean at any time - really nice value for the money we spent. See you again at Neptune's :)

Love family run businesses. Felt completely comfortable the whole time.
I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The security isn't the greatest, but I never felt unsafe. The kitchen is great, and it's a typical free hostel breakfast in the morning (coffee, cereal, etc). I was in a mixed 4 bed dorm and used the communal bathroom. Everything was clean if a little small. The staff was welcoming and helpful. My only wish is that there were luggage lockers in the rooms. Overall, Neptune's is a good hostel, and I would definitely stay here again/recommend it.
