The staff is really friendly and helpful but the hostel was pretty dirty and it definitely need some renovations. Impossible to sleep in the rooms facing the main street.

No A/C or fans in that hot weather! Are you kidding!? Other than that.. This place is pretty cool. It's at the bottom of a steep hill so beware if you have a big suitcase. Great location, near a tram station and a shopping/food street. Oh and awesome breakfast! Would stay here again.

We stayed for five days at the beginning of August, admittedly at the height of summer, however we have never been quite so uncomfortable. There was no escape from the heat, there was no air-con whatsoever and the one fan they had in the communal area was so inadequate they may as well have not had it at all. I'm sorry but in a hot country in the summer a hostel should offer air-con as standard. Having said that, they provided a lovely breakfast and the hostel did have character. It was fine.

The hostel is beautiful and just 3 tram stations to the city center. It can be noisy sometimes because its on a main street. It's clean, toilet and shower is spacious and doesn't smell bad. Unfortunately I had a bad experience as the first morning that I woke up, I had pimples all over my body, an allergy maybe from an insect bite(other people living in the hostel had it too but not so bad). When I told the hostel staff they were very helpful and they immediately cleaned and disinfected the room.

This hostel is a really interesting place. The room, bathroom and toilets are very clean. The location is good, but they have a very slow internet connection and a very old computer for guests and that was very annoying. We had a weird situation with breakfast. Since we came before check in time, they offered us breakfast while we wait. When we were checking out, they charged us 10 lira for that breakfast-which wasn't much, but it would've been nice if they told us from the start we had to pay.

This place was supper hot. Our rooms were smoking hot and there is not even a floor fan or anything in the main common room/breakfast room or any rooms. maybe think about getting some... One staff member wasn't that friendly, but others were fine. Location was good. It was clean. It was an ok hostel, just need to put some money in to make it comfortable to relax in, aka some cooling agents as we didnt want to sit in hotel as was hotter inside then out.

- Very good location. Near Tophane tram stop from where you can easily reach the old city in barely 10 minutes. Just a 5 minute walk to Istiklal Street, great for shopping and cinema. Ten minutes further and you're on Taksim Square. - Nice helpful staff, nice atmosphere, clean enough. - Big kitchen, nice breakfast (included) with all kinds of fruits and you can get tea and coffee for free all day. - Two little negatives: street noise if your room is next to the street. Low hot water pressure.

Great hostel for its price, close to everything worth seeing in Istanbul and in a really interesting neighbourhood. Could not recommend highly enough.

Quintessential hostel. Very ethnic and liberal. Was not the cleanest, but was a fun, funky, young vibe.

- Friendly staff (excellent English), your help with - I really liked the paintings and music: great atmosphere in Neverland Hostel - Breakfast was great and healthy! - Neverland's location is fantastic: we could walk everywhere + taxi's, small shops and ATM close by - Quiet and clean rooms. But they weren't cleaned even once during our one-week stay - The website says towels were free at your hostel, but we didn't get any. But when we asked for them, we got a fresh pair. Maybe change the info?

Cool staff and location. Good breakfast, the only bad things was that there is no AC and you have to walk down a steep hill to get there. Besides that it is a cool place.

Extremely basic backpacker hostel. No fans, no aircon, absolute minimalistic furniture in extreme backpacker style

Perhaps the only disadvantage in the hotel was missing air conditioning while the nights were hot. Besides this, I am very happy with the reception staff, the location and the some people left their doors open all the time because of thrust among each other which also increased the overall sense of security. In short, it was worth the money.

Neverland hostel is the best choice for those with short budget! The staff is very helpful, the breakfast very tasty and the location is perfect to enjoy the bars, cafes and restaurants of Istanbul. To reach the touristic part of the city, you may take a long and pleasant walk through Galata bridge or take the metro and arrive there in 5 minutes -- I'd recommend the first option! I really enjoyed my time in Neverland. :)
