I called the day before my arrival and the hostel arranged for transportation from the airport (at 6:00AM) and allowed early check in. When I arrived I asked if they could set me up with a tour, and at 8:00AM I was on a guided tour. The service is great, the rooms are big and clean, and the showers have plenty of hot water. The rooftop cafe is casual, which I like, and is a place to chill with affordable beer and cheap, tasty local cuisine. It is only 2-3 blocks away from Luxor temple...

Can recommend the hotel overall in relation to the price. Tried to sell tours as usual with some strange remarks (e.g. they will handle the permits for Abu Simpel for us, but there are now permits any more since come times), but that was in the usual amount of tour pushing in Egypt.

The owner was exceptional! He assisted in every aspect of our stay and even took extra special care of my bed-ridden (sick) boyfriend. Thank you Jabber!!! We would book with them every time!!!

A fantastic place to stay in Luxor. The owner, Gaber is really helpful and friendly. He organised an excellent guide for the West Bank and Karnak temple and introduced us to an awesome felluca captain. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Brilliant roof terrace for chilling out. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay here... overall the host, Jaber was excellent in making us feel welcomed and helpled us with our day tours of the Temples and West Bank... all in all, I would highly recommend this hostel for your stay in Luxor.

The guys who run the place are so cheerful and helpful. My 2 friends from Australia enjoyed it so much they wanted to return just for a few more laughs. Nothing is too hard for these guys to arrange. The location is just off the railway street, down a quiet alley. We love it there.

New Everst was a great hostel and had amazing staff. They provided reasonably priced tours and also offered individual tips on how to visit local temples and restaurants. When everyone seems like they are trying to rip you off and take every dollar you have, New Everst was genuine and provided a great stay in Luxor. Would definitely recommend New Everst to any other traveller staying in Luxor!!

Location is between Luxor Temple and the Station. The ferry terminal to the west bank is also very close. Staff showed great hospitality. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is very helpful and the service is good. Bookings via the hotel are ok. The flight I booked there had the same price as the one I researched in the internet and the accomodation for Dahab I booked in this hotel was even cheaper. Breakfast could be more, but I think this applies for all budget hotels in Egypt.
