New Ipanema HandCraft Reviews

We stayed in a private room which is opposite the main hostel, down the cute side street, with a key to both the main entrance and the room. The room was simple and nice, and the kitchen facilities and bathrooms are good -- we were able to cook a few meals and spend a bit of time relaxing out the front on the porch. Internet doesn't quite make it to the bedroom, but it reaches the porch. The staff are helpful. Really near Ipanema beach. Nice place!

First the staff took us to a lovely private double with its own balcony & hammock. 15 min later he came to say he'd taken us to the wrong room and we had to move. He took us to the hostel's other building (right across from this one). Major downgrade- no windows, dirty sheets with visible hairs, and the building had no common area and no wi-fi signal. I'm used to having local hostel staff, but this was mostly non-Brazilians, with limited knowledge of the area. Only plus was amazing location!

Quite a quirky place to stay but not terribly social. The location is fantastic and at least the room has airconditioning. Oh and there is a cat that meows all night....

The location is awesome. The double room we had was not in the same building as the dorms, so we did not have a lot of interacting with other travellers. The security is on high level, as we had to unlock three doors to come to our room. :)

Great location. We stayed in a 1 bedroom private inside of their art studio. It sounded weird but it had great character and a nice feel to it.
