The room was good. They got us our crucial ride to the airport at 2am without a problem. They only wanted to sell us a tour where they could make money and not one that actually got us where we wanted to go (but that's the norm in Egypt). My daughter & I have just returned from an 8 week holiday to Egypt & Jordan. We stayed with New Palace on three different occassions. During that time we found the hostel to be excellent, our romm with ensuite was great and the location "Downtown" was convenient. The staff (in particular Jeremy) were excellent in helping us to book our tours etc & the owner (Ahmed) is a lovely, kind gentleman. Thanks so much for helping us to make our holiday so fantastic!

Nuestra estancia aqui ha sido inolvidable y gratificante.

Would have perhaps been better if I was not a lone female - manager very unapproachable. Asked them to organise a trip and they failed to do this. Bedding was filthy, but the manager fixed that problem was fixed once I showed him in the room. Good driver for airport pickup who patiently waited for my Egypt Air flight that was 1.5 hours late arriving at 3AM. Tamer and his boss did a good job arranging me taxi to the airport as I stayed at the end of my trip. These people were the most friendly I met in my 16 day Egypt trip. I highly recommend New Palace for new arrivals to Egypt as they have maps, info, and willing to help you. Be warned, Bedding was filthy, but the manager fixed that problem was fixed once I showed him in the room. Had double room that was ensuite. This meant that bathroom was basically an afterthought, kind of built into the corner of the room. Dont know what it was but it smelt SO bad it was very hard to live with for the couple of nights we were there. Also there wasnt any toilet paper or shower curtain. The room did not seem clean, sheets had stains on them and pillowcases smelt bad. Its hard for me to say all this because I believe you get what you pay 4 and this hostel is really cheap.
