Had a tremendous stay for 2 nights at the ny budget inn, good clean rooms, comfy beds, love the fact that there are endless clean bathrooms with your own privacy and they are regularly checked. The front desk staff really go out of their way to ensure your stay is eventful and fun, lockers for personal belongings are spacious and love the fact that you have your own microwave and refrigerator in your room. I highly recommend this hostel as its very central and surrounded by great eating and drin

Good location, 5mins walk to subway station. Pretty secure, clean bathrooms and room. This is not a hostel and a budget hotel so not a good place to meet people if that's what you're looking for - small lounge, no kitchen. New York lodging is extremely expensive and space is limited (very much like London) so space is a premium. Having said that, was pretty good value for your money. It's New York, you're only at your hotel to sleep!

Great location. Be prepared to lug your belongings up to 5 levels' worth of stairs - so pack lightly (No elevators!!). Absolutely NO sound proofing to windows. Street noise non stop through the night.

Noisiest place I've ever stayed at. You need ear plugs, as sirens go off all night. When u arrive there is no flexibility to check in early, plus you pay to store your bags on day of arrival, and if you want to leave them there for a few hours on day of leaving. Bed mattress is very springy. Woke up with spring marks in my back

Like an idiot, I booked my stay for the wrong days. When I got there, I just about had a panic attack - it was going to cost about $200 more to rebook it, money I had not budgeted for. Fortunately, Nancy, the woman at the desk, was able to make several different reservations for me for the cheapest rooms they had available. It meant that I had to switch rooms several times, but they stored my luggage free of charge, and it wasn't much more than the original cost. Great customer service.

Knowing that Manhattan is very expensive, this hostel is a good low-budget option, although including taxes etc. for a European, it is still a lot of money for a crammed dorm. This said, the place is clean, friendly and the location good as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The location was just perfect for I could walk to many sightseens. I stayed in two rooms, one big but with the street noise, the other very small but quiet. All in all, I had a very good experience. Staff was nice, I met people form the dorm. It's just too bad there is not a common room, other than the entrance, for people to meet.

I have never been to a place where they cleaned the shared facilities at midnight. Considering the walls were really thin and the cleaning staff not considerate of people's sleep, they woke me up every night between 12am and 12.30am. I was not happy at all with that.

Not far from subway, had free wifi in rooms. Safe area. Surprisingly clean common bathrooms that are cleaned several times a day. A little noisy as the room was facing the street and walls are thin, so you can hear other guests walking/talking/closing doors. Nice, helpful staff. No elevator and steep stairs, so be prepared for a climb, although staff will offer to help with your luggage. Good value for money. I like that the room had a table, table lamp, small fridge and microwave and TV

Claustrophobic room and no possibility of changing. Lots of extra taxes added in spite of stated remaining balance on confirmation. Lack of common areas - small lobby. Definitley too expensive for that room! Moved out to other hotel as soon as we could. Got a room with a view on 23:rd floor with bathroom for same price.
