Excellent budget hotel. The staff were terrifc. the [place was clean. It was affordable (*in NY terms). Not a thing to complain about except loudly hissing pipes- but I imagine that is out of their hands. Thank you.

Overall, I had a good stay at New York Budget Inn. I was pleasantly surprised about how clean the place was, and the quality house keeping, and would recommend it on that basis. The customer service however was average. The reception staff were not useful on basic things like good shopping locations, subway info etc. The men behind the counter were also sleazy and unprofessional. I've since emailed them about some jewelery I lost whilst staying there, and never heard back, which is disappointing

Perfect for our needs. Good location, the staff were friendly. Bit noisy because its on a main road but passable. There was always someone cleaning something so it was almost spotless. Only complaint is we used the towels provided for a $5 deposit (refundable), it would have been nice if these had been refreshed every couple of days but besidea that, good. Thanks

I got a room with no windows that had more resemblance to a prison cell than a hostel. The worst think is however, that the hostel has no kichen area or other common area where you can meet other travelers. Almost in contradiction to the entire idea of a hostel.

Rooms were nice enough but the extra charges - for using lockers in the room, for a towel, for luggage storage - are excessive, and because of this, and the fact that it doesn't end up much cheaper than a single room in a real hotel, I won't be staying there again. It's not what you expect from a travellers hostel and so shouldn't be advertised on this website.

Solo Traveler from israel. It is a great place, hot water all day long, very clean. The only thing I would add is a living room for everyone to meet ppl, although it's not a must. And it's very expensive, but again it's new york, and it got great location.

Everything is very good, but one thing is no elevator. If you dont't mind, it's valuable to your spend. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Free wifi that is perfect. The share bathrooms are clean, housekeeper cleans them all the time.

The Budget Inn is not like other lodging you'd find on Hostel World - it seems as though it is merely a place to lay your head at night between your filling days in NYC. For that, it is quality. If you are looking for a place to chill and meet people look elsewhere, the Budget Inn is for convenience only.

Bathroom is small so more than likely the floors will get wet, is it possible to get another towel or something for the bathroom floor.

I would highly recommend the New York Budget Inn with the caveat that it really is, as the name suggests, a budget affair. The staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful, the rooms are small but clean and comfortable, and the location is unbeatable. Downside is a lack of a good communal area, or a bar, cafe etc. Nevertheless, this is an excellent choice for the traveller on a shoe-string budget.

The hostel was really good, but the room was extremely cold that it was very difficult to get out of bed in the morning.

It's a good hostel but i still think the Equity Point New York @ Times Square is the best hostel in New York in my opinion.
