Staff was friendly & incredibly helpful -- we showed up at the front desk around 7 am, about 15 minutes before the tour buses departed for Fraser Island, and they managed to get us on a 2-day tour for that morning. (Admittedly, it was a weekday during the low season.) Also, as promised, the place was one of the cleanest hostels I've visited in Australia.Staff was friendly & incredibly helpful -- we showed up at the front desk around 7 am, about 15 minutes before the tour buses departed for Fraser Island, and they managed to get us on a 2-day tour for that morning. Really liked this hostel - very modern and tidy and a laid-back vibe to it. Though the 8 bed dorm we stayed in was a little cramped and access to the kitchen was closed by 9pm - this in no way affected the enjoyment of our stay here. The strict policy on consuming alcohol the premises (I believe) ensured a very peaceful and restful stay for guests. Staff very also extremely friendly and helpful. There\'s not a lot to do in Hervey Bay, unless you\'re going to Fraser Island or Whale Watching (whioch you can do at Indian Head on Fraser for free). There\'s no clubs and the bars are rather limited. The backpackers itself is ok. By far not the best I\'ve stayed in or the worst. The movie room is great, awesome selection.
