The room was very cold and the bathroom extremely cold We couldnt use the heater as it was to noicy. The room was full of bugs who woke up from their winter sleep when we arrived. Compared to hotel price in Tokyo it was quite expensive (Per night ¥6980 dbl room w priv bath) When we arrived after the room had been cleaned our room was unlocked.

The hostel is very comfortable. Ken-san was a very helpful owner. With his perfect English, he showed us all the good places to visit in Nikko, all doable in one (long) day. He even drove us to the station the next morning after the check-out! A tip: you can miss the first waterfalls located on the north-east of the hostel. The walk is pretty long and there is not a lot too see. The park however is gorgeous, probably one of the most beautiful spots we saw in Japan.

This place was very warm and fun to stay at. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful. My only negative point is the price of breakfast and dinner. If possible, make your own :D

We had a lovely stay at Nikko Park Lodge. It snowed for the few days we were there which we were completely unprepared for. It was so nice to come back to a log fire and electric blankets at the end of a day spent walking around in the snow/sleet! The owner took us through all the major sights and suggested interesting things to see. He helped us to plan our day and this was really helpful. The food was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast there every morning.
