Nice quiet place up in the hills, with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Quality meals for dinner and breakfast, with vegan options which was excellent. Recommended

My worste guest house in Japan...

The hostel has a great lodge feel, complete with a fireplace and wooden furniture. Ken knows a lot about the Nikko area and he will take you to the station which is the hub for all of the nearby attractions. The food is also good, but you have to place your order early in the evening, which can be inconvenient if you plan to be out all day. Great English service. I would advise against going during winter season because the showers are not hot and the hallways are freezing cold.

Really friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and a nice close-to-nature location. However it was really Cold, and the beds in the dormitory weren't cleant very well after use.

lodge in the city is not a place to stay and is totaly not suited as a hostel. Showers if you can call them a such do have barely water rinsing out in what could be called warm. slaughter house atmosphere.
