This hostel was actually pretty good - except for it was dirty. Or no, it wasn\'t just dirty, it was filthy. The sheets were pretty much the only clean thing in this place (thanks God!). The staff was nice and the dorm was big enough and built on a clever way in smaller groups of four beds. The location wasn\'t very central but it was only some 5 minutes walk from the closest subway station (Dollis Hill on zone 3). The area itself wasn\'t the nicest but felt pretty safe. Still wouldn\'t recommend.

I spent a beautiful weekend at Hostel nr.8, the staff is really welcoming and makes you feel at home. You can meet a lot of interesting open minded people and have fun with them. I

Apart from the bathroom which was a bit dirty, (I do not blame the staff, maybe the guests had poor hygiene or aim), I find nothing wrong with No.8. The bar was great, great atmosphere, cheap beer, Neil who works there is a very pleasant and helpful fellow, and the beds were better than sleeping on a park bench. Also bring your own towel since it costs to get one from the hostel. For 10pounds a night in London, it was a palace. Also I never got to have breakfast. Too early.

Dollis Hill is not a very nice area at all. The guy on the front desk was super helpful. Bedding was clean, didn't use the showers so can't comment on that. My biggest gripe was security. I was checking out early, and was told to hand the key in night before. How can get back in my room I asked the receptionist? Open the door, "put a sock under the door", hand key in while leaving the door open the whole time! Building needed lots of work. Would use hostel as a last resort - that's what it was.

This hostel was fine. Hostels in London have a bad rap of being pretty dingy, but this one was alright with that in mind. they had free wifi, breakfast, it was quiet, even in the 24 person room, the 2 person room was quite nice, little desk & closet. the showers on the higher floors don't work very well, but apparently they're doing renovations starting on the bottom floor, so it should just get better. little far away from anything, about 20-30 minutes by train, but overall okay.

I was only there for one night but it didn't live up to my standard. The rooms were extremely hot and stuffy due to no ventilation and windows and the fact there were 26 people to one room. I felt they weren't cleaned enough. The toilet and shower facilities were basic, though there could of been more of them. Not sure what breakfast was like but I'm sure that was basic too. Free internet although very slow. Good area to go out in. Close to the station. Stay here if you're desperate

I've stayed here 3 times, and will come back. I have always had a clean bed and linen, never paid more than 13 pounds per night, and have been upgraded to a better room twice. Even the 26 or 18 bed mixed room is nice, since you have your own privacy curtain on the beds. And considering they have over 100 people there per day, they keep up with cleaning fairly well. The staff are extremely friendly, and the breakfast, while not the much variety, is substancial. This is a hostel, not a hotel.

We lived in room nr 17 and the next door it was three showers, two of them don't function and one has just very warm water. The breakfast should open at 8 o´clock but we have to wait until 8.30 the 19th and the 21st of Mai.

First of all we were placed in the wrong room because we weren't even asked our identities during check in. When we went to our room my bed was filled with dead bugs. They also only accept cash which is ridiculous and difficult for those of us who don't carry large amounts of cash at all times. Must put a sign or advertisement somewhere stating this. The shower doors didn't close. The morning we wished to leave we couldn't because the staff slept in until about 9:30 even though check out was at8

not the worst but pretty bad. cheap esp. for london but VERY far out (zone 3, 20+ min to get in to center by underground). breakfast is only 8-9a, early and very crowded. check your food before eating -- my bread had mold growing! rooms are cramped so you are constantly in someone else's way. staff was mostly friendly and helpful but wasn't very organized (didnt keep record that i'd paid or that my reservation was changed). one morning the hallway doors were all DEADBOLTED from outside until 9am

The staff was not very helpful or friendly. When I tried to book a second night, they wanted to charge me 30 pounds for a dirty room with a dozen other people in it. The restrooms smelled like the sewer. The room and the building was packed as if they were trying to cram someone into every empty corner without really caring about the condition they were staying in. The location was also poor. It was nice to have it located close to the tube, but in general it was in the middle of nowhere.

This is good value hostel. I stayed here few times over past few years. I would recommend to have a video camera install in the kitchen. My sandwich was stolen at night. I heard an other guess's dinner was stolen.

It was a good value for the money. The rooms were som what small and the beds weren´t the best, but what do you expect? The showers would often run out of hot water around 11 thou everybody was taking a shower. The kitchen area was cleand every morning but would get really dirty after a few hours. The WC´s were actully quite nasty in the middlefloor but in the first and third alot more fresh. I would stay here again

The showers should be more effective. The water takes too long to go out. The toilets are really no hygienic. But all the rest is relly cool.

I had only one problem this hostel: the showers were awful condition: mouldy, the tiles broken, you couldn't locked the doors, sometimes just cold water, sometimes just hot water. Everything else was OK.

Very nice stay, but a lots of things to repare (showers, heater). A lot of dust in the room. Anymore cutlery, no need a dishwasher, people should do their dishes.
