Really nice little hostel set up close to Florence city station. Clean beds and a nice room with all the essential facilities needed. The owner, Martha (excuse the spelling) was really welcoming, she helped us get to grips with the city, what she recommended to see and do, cheap places to eat, drink, see at night etc. She also got in contact by text to make finding the hostel much easier. The only significant critism I can make was the lack of wifi, which forced us to talk to each other!

This place was more like a guest house. The lady is very nice and helpful. Location is really good. Our room was quite hot at night as the fan didn't work. We only had one key card so for a group of 5 it didn't work that well. The place had a shared fridge and a kettle that's about it. I would probably stay somewhere else next time I come to florence.

Just few problems with WIFI, but nothing important.

We booked it only a week before but the room was extremely cheap. We accidentally filled in online that we would not arrive until 11 PM, but showed up earlier, and after calling the number for the hostel, they said it was no problem and within 15 minutes had scootered over from their residence to let us check in. I know for sure that other places would not be so lenient, let alone fast, and we were extremely grateful. Alexander, the son of the owner, was also helpful in advising what to do.

Everything was as described, great location close to the main train station and Oltrarno neighborhood. One problem, there were too many mosquitos in the room, the windows wouldn't fully close

This hostel is an excellent place for staying in Florence. The owner, Marta, is very kind and pleasant person. She gave us map and marked everything we should see during our visit. Our room was clean, bathroom was clean, there was always hot water, it is very quiet place in building near Duomo. We did not spend much time in our room, it was only for sleeping, so it was great for us. WiFi wasn`t working, but 10 meters from hostel was Cafe with free WiFi, not that we needed it much.

You get what you pay for. Good things: the host is a really kind lady, that takes her time to suggest you places to visit. Besides that, you get one bathroom for each room, so if you rent the whole room with your friends, you will have your own bathroom (which was actually big and clean). Bad things: I would say that anything, since the idea of going to Florence is to spend as much time as you kind in discovering the city.

The location was excellent!

NO WIFI, although the cafe down the street has it. TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED even though it says so online, upon realization the owner gave us some for free though. The owner is very sweet and speaks good English. Finding it at first was a slightly difficult, but once you've found it, it is super easy to navigate around and back to the rest of the city. Could use a bit more lighting in the bedrooms/bathrooms, but overall with it you get what you pay for.

Wifi wasn't working, but otherwise everything else was great!

It is an old appartment, only three rooms, borring atmosphere and the Internet didn't work. The location is good though.

When we got there we were amazed at just how central the Afossi Hostel House really is. Unfortunately we were late for our reservation due to construction but Marta was waiting for us and was very understanding. She upgraded our room free of charge so that we had our own private bathroom and the linens on the bed were clean and comfortable. She also provided us with a map and told us where all of the sites were. If I were to come back to Florence, I would definitely consider staying here again!

We loveee this hostel! It's close to everything, it's quite, the beds are so comfortable, and the room is decorated beautifully! We booked a 4 beds room with a shared bathroom, but the adorable Marta (allora, she always say this!) upgraded us to the ensuite bathroom room with no extra charge! Though the wifi is not so strong, that's not really a huge problem. Overall, we'll definitely stay here again if we ever visit Florence in the future!
