Quiet hostel with lovely people. Family stay. The location of the hostel is not very central but a bus station is close by. The breakfast is included, simple but good.

I really liked the location of this hostel because it was in a very safe neighborhood west of town. There is a large park with running trails nearby which was great because San Jose is a very big city. The owner is very knowledgeable about safe walking routes, bus routes, etc. The coffee was the best hostel coffee I have had and the breakfast is toast and jam. My recommendation for the hostel is to have keys for the front gate. I did not like having to ring the bell to be let in each time.

The owner was quite welcoming. It felt more like a homestay than a hostel which is fine however I believe that to accommodate tourists the rooms should be spruced up - all the room contents were quite old and felt worn out. The linen smelled of damp. The shared bathroom was open and had no space to put toiletries etc It just didn't feel comfortable to stay in. Also, it was really hard to find.

The family is very nice and Gabriel will help you. He brought us to the bus station for free. There is also a lovely dog. The rooms were oke, not very new and there were a few little spiders. The city centre is not close. You can walk, but it will take an hour. The walk is great though, you'll pass a park. And finding the city centre is not hard, just straight on.
