There are no lockers in the rooms to store valuables during the day. Anybody can walk in and out the hostel without being asked for a key or something to be presented. Beds are really uncomfortable. Plus: each bed has its own reading lamp. The rooms inside were clean but i saw some rats running aroung in the premises.

Very nice rooms and comfy beds. Kitchen was poorly equipped and you needed to get utensiles from reception...

Hostel was amazing. Staff were friendly and let me swap rooms to be in the same room as a friend who was also staying there. The rooms were amazing! I was in an 8 bed dorm and it was big, clean and airy, around the pool, the bar was fun in the evening, I was there for movie night, which was fun, got to watch a movie on a big screen around the pool. The lagoon is across the road and its right in the centre so you don't have to walk very far.

The hostel considers itself a licensed premise and therefore doesn't allow you to bring in outside alcohol and there is nowhere on the hostel grounds that people can hang out and drink alcohol without buying it from the bar, which is a huge drawback.

The hostel is really awesome. The rooms are in small buildings which are very new. The entire site looked really good and was clean. An another great feature is the hostel's own bar. Sometimes they have BBQ and give you free sausages when you buy drinks ... :) All in all, I had a great stay there!

One of the girls on the travel desk who helped me book the Fraser Island trip was fantastic! She had short blonde hair, was Australian and I think she had a small nose stud. Thank you!

The layout of the hostel is quite cool, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone was in general quite friendly. Location was great. The reception closes at 9 though and everyone has to go out. My bus was at 11 45 at night, so I had to sit with my bags under an overhang for a couple hours with my bags while it was raining. Definitely not the funnest thing. Besides that though, good place, good location, good people.

good location, big area with a pool, nice on the hottest days. Rooms are clean enough. Big hostel, with campers, people who parks their vans... great party at night. Staff could be a bit more helpful maybe? But would recommend it to people who loves a party:)

Really cool layout with dorms being in separate huts arranged around the pool and bar in the middle, music playing. Friendly atmosphere but could do with some activities in the evenings. Only downside was the staff on reception, they were quite rude towards guests. Also kitchen full of insects, constantly getting flies and ants in my food! $20 deposit for a mug and cutlery. Internet is $4 for an hour on a computer or for 24h wifi.

Room (8 bed) was good. The beds were clean and didn't squeak. Staff was super friendly (hey Titia!!) and helpfull. It's a bit far outside! But they have a free shuttle service!

Nomads airlie is nice and chilled, and the rooms are surprisingly quiet. Its got everything you need, and its right by the lagoon. I would go back here, if going back to Airlie.

Really nice setup, lots of dorms surrounding a central park/pool area. Very chilled during the day. Good location.

Nomads are party hostels and in my opinion not good value and all seem the same with staff who don't really know the local area, and treat you as another number. The kitchen area was disgusting . We were on a fraser island trip so we had one night here included before and after. However, the bar here, is probably the best in town and there was a free drink on arrival and and when we returned form fraser island the after party was immense, wet-t jocks etc with lots of games and it was packed.

This hostel is a mixed bag. The dorm rooms are spacious and air conditioned, have 2 showers and a toilet (though you can hear almost anything from in there). Rooms were pretty clean. Now to the downsides: staff ranged from pretty unhelpful to downright rude, if you don't like people don't work at the reception. The hostel is probably too large, we got food stolen from the fridge and it seems to be common. You have to pay everything extra like lockers, wifi, 20$ deposit for cutlery.
