Only one staff member on check in desk and with a huge queue of people this took some time!! Travel desk shut early and no info and no help about wanting to book a trip. Hairdryers on 4th floor didn't work and there needs to be individual lights for the bunks to save having to put the big light on when others are sleeping!Also very noisy, but being in a down town hostel couldn't really expect anything else! The room was incredibly hot and smelled terrible. I can't comment on character and fun as I used it as just a place to sleep - the toilets have no lighting and the bathroom floor was greasy and covered in potato chips from evening to the next morning. This hostel\'s best part is that it\'s on an excellent location in the heart of Auckland. Still, I didn\'t enjoy my stay there: lots of under-aged kids running and screaming in the corridors, the bathrooms were very dirty and the room wasn\'t comfortable at all. There was always a big ques at reception, staff were not that friendly, almost seemed like they didnt want to be there, did not get the room I booked, when I got to my room, someone elses belongings were in it. The staff were great at reception the only negative was the initial booking in, this took quite a while due to an incorrect booking and having to find another room to accommodate us.
