nice place, but kitchen is a bit small

The people of reception never were there, I like more the Nomads Capital from Wellington than the Nomads from Auckland. Cheers

Hi there, thank you very much for your review. We would like to more about your experience while staying with us as you mention the receptionist was never there?! Our desk is manned 24/7 and our staff only leave the desk to help another guest or for hostel checks. I would like to know more about the time you experienced a closed reception. Please email me under nadine@nomadsworld.com Thanks, Nomads Auckland Management

Nice hostel in the city center of Auckland with a nice view from the deck/balcony/kitchen (but definitely to many birds outside and inside)

Hi there, thank you very much for your recent review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and hope to see you again in the near future. Unfortunately the kitchen doors are not always kept shut and birds happen to come in. Our cleaning team is around multiple times a day to ensure it stays clean and tidy. Thanks, Nomads Auckland Management

No free wifi and half good toilets, otherwise really good.

This is my second time staying at the hostel and as much as I like it there, they really need to do something about the bathrooms! The floors are so slippy, I have fallen over in them at least three or four times. I really bruised my arm and leg last time as I fell onto the wooden benches in the middle.

Usually nomads are a fail safe good standards type place but my dorm wasn't great, not air conditioned and with the windows open you have the busy nightlife to keep you awake. The staff weren't the friendliest either in fact pretty rude! The tours place downstairs were nice though. Location is pretty handy aswell for boat trips and getting to and from the airport using the public buses.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you experienced our staff as rude and not friendly. We drive to give the best customer service possible and for that reason I would like to know a little bit more about your experience and what staff member in particular you dealt with. Please forward me any details to nadine@nomadsworld.com Thanks, Nomads Auckland Management

To big to get a good character, sauna and spa-pool is very nice though

The bar fownstairs is SO noisy if u get a rooom on the wrong side of the building. Bring earplugs. The kitchen and big roof is wonderful!

Great location. Baggage storage near travel agency needs better security. Dorm room very cramped and stank. Location is central but noise from bar is kept me up until 4am on Sunday morning. Kitchen had little room in fridge to store food. Staff took up most of that space. Other fridges had stank with sour milk. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Early 10am check out. Would be better if place had free wifi.

First of all this is a DRY hostel which isn't clearly stated on entry. We had our alcohol confiscated, went to the kitchens everyone was drinking...the fire alarm wen off at 1.30am and we stood outside for 2 hours. We've heard this happens a lot. The staff were so unhelpful, after sending us on a wild goose chase to park our car (they previously had said they had parking) when we asked where else to park she shrugged and said 'no one's complained before).

The rooms smelled and there weren't enough plugs in the dorm, some were right by the door which is a bit of a hazard. The beds were comfy however the structure of the beds seemed like death traps as bars were missing/damaged. The bathrooms were big and the showers were hot and powerful and always clean. There were several bars nearby which didn't help with sleep quality (wear earplugs) a communal room downstairs with computers and a TV for group viewing with lots of seating which was good for chilling out. The wifi is pretty poor as everyone is using it plus having paid for it it feels like salt in a wound. it has a good location as it is practically in the dead centre of Auckland city for everything you'll want, there is a countdown nearby for shopping (pick up a discount card when you're getting the airbus shuttle from the airport) about 5-10min walk. The hostel runs activities every day and is a good source of local and travel information.

Really nice bar, free jaccuzi and co, I only stayed a couple of nights here and there but perfect if you're passing through Auckland

This is a wonderful place to stay in Auckland. Especially if this is where you're starting your New Zealand adventures. Internet and all the booking/information you could possibly need to see all NZ has to offer. It's quite a large hostel, with several common areas and a kitchen.

crowded hostel. kitchen too small for so many people with only 2 fridges. sauna was broke and didn't work. super small rooms for 8 or more people.

My and my girlfriend stay about tree weeks on this fantastic place and we can only say Thank you for everything. The staff is so gentle and friendly , Manuel its a great host. The facilities are great, modern and clean. The kitchen its big enough and organized. Bay Adventure stay in our hearts and we recommend it for everyone, no matter if you are old or young, single or in company. You absolutly find your self comfortable in this place.

fun hostel, close to everything and lots to do

Nomads was in a great location in the centre of Auckland, within walking distance to most places. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean and had great meal deals.

Located in Central Auckland only a walk away from everything. Really good atmosphere... Big hostel with lots of travellers. Always someone to go out with. Under bed locker is perfect for keeping stuff safe. Unisex bathrooms but are kept clean. The bar attached is great with $5 beers and wines 😃

Staff is helpful and the location is great. But if you want a good night's sleep, don't count on it. This place is way too happening and bumpin' for any good night's sleep.
