Very dirty place. The bathrooms smell urin. It's a party hostel so don't expect too much Sleep. Not recommended for couples. I would stay there if I had 19 years old but with 26 I felt really old there.

We found the hostel to be noisy and the bathrooms/ toilets were dirty and needed to be cleaned more than once a day for the amount of people staying there. Carpets in hallways were stained badly and needed refurbishing.

Loved staying here - one of the friendliest and most fun hostels I've been to. Byron Bay is amazing and as I'm travelling alone, it helped that everyone here, guests and staff alike, were incredibly friendly. The arranged nights out and the common room before were great fun. A mirror in the rooms would be nice tho. The only thing I could fault is that once you check out you have to store your luggage in lockers which are extortionate - annoying if your transport isn't until the evening.

The location is terrible to find, behind all buildings with the worst few i ever got for 170dollars for a room. A double room for 160 dollars in that style is just not worth it at all. The stuff is unfriendly and very bad in handling simple requests.( apart the guys who did the pancakes brekkie that day ( 21.04.2012). The security is average like most backpackers AND enough alcohol always make a good atmosphere.

On the plus side its new, bathrooms are AMAZING and sooo clean!, well set out, staff were very helpful and kind to me. if there are any neg about this place although not the hostels fault is the kind of ppl it attracts - room was crazy messy plus we got woken up at 3 am by some drunk girls who forgot that there were other ppl in the room. it was horrible! but not the fault of the hostel. although maybe there needs to be something in place to give ppl like this some consequences.

Hostel was very up to date and other guests friendly. Great meal specials in court yard on different nights. Staff could use some training, they didn't know how to take my money and book me at one of thier own hostels in another city!

there was construction works going on in the building next door which commenced very loudly around 7:30 each morning. The mens shower rooms were closed off on the first floor and there was no signage as to where shower/toilet/washrooms are located until you found the doors yourself. Trod on a few cockroaches within the hostel during my stay which isn't particularly pleasant. And the lockers in the rooms have no locks and could not hold much anyway. Cleaning staff were excellent though.

Worst hostel we've stayed at in Australia. Our room smelled of urine, there was puke all over the girls bathroom after the pub crawl organised by the hostel, girls brought any old blokes back to sleep in the shared dorms, dirty plates and mugs were all over the corridors, carpets were dirty, the shared bathroom stank, people roam the corridors all night banging on doors to wake you up, building work under the hostel starts at 7.30am, lockers were too small and music in the hostel was too loud.

Fairly average for price of "king" rooms. Sheets don't get changed and Towels only get requested on request. For the $170 per night in hindsight i should have gone to a hotel or hired a cabin at the caravan park. Bathroom was nice, but shower in room 105 leaked A LOT. Walking down the corridoors was usually messy. but overall for a hostel this was a good experience and the location can't be beaten- but price I feel was steep for the value. I have stayed in hostels all around the world and it's b
