Okey, it is cheap and the location is good. Some improvement points: - the tab in room is leaking so it is and smells wet - the kitchen is not well equipped, only 2 forks for the whole hostel? - the showers are sometimes only cold, and they fall apart - the washing machines are all out of order, bummer if your ready to wash your stuff - we think there are bed bugs.. Once again. It is cheap and the location is good. You can have a good night rest as the hostel isn't super loud.

The rooms were very dirty and the air conditioning unit filthy - which I took apart and cleaned. Clearly hadn't been done in years. However the bathroom facilities were kept very clean. The tap in the room was constantly dripping no matter how hard you tried to turn it off. There was also only one double plug in the room of four beds and one plug had the air conditioning unit plugged in. Lockers would be handy. Good size rooms. Great location and great to have breakfast provided.

This hostel was extremely dirty. The linen was stained the carpet was disgusting and the bathrooms were unhygienic. They constantly smelt of urine and didn't even have a soap dispenser or hand dryer/paper towels. The staff were unhelpful and I actually went to The Bellview to book my trips as they were much more helpful and nice. The staff at Nomads couldn't even recommend a Great Barrier Reef trip - the #1 thing to do in Cairns. I wouldn't recommend this place despite the great location.

Rooms were very dirty - even staff (unpaid volunteers) said that they were told to clean quickly, not at all thoroughly, which was very noticeable. Ants all over the kitchen. Excellent location is the only upside..

Incredibly nice, friendly and helpfull staff. They helped me a lot finding a diving trip in the reef. Good breakfast and good atmosphere. There was only one kitchen not working well but it was enough with the other one.

Booked a private "double" room but had to stay in a set of bunk beds. Not ideal for a married couple.

I have stayed at Gilligan's and the Jack hotel but Nomads is the best hostel in Cairns. Great location, free (delicious) breakfast, lovely staff. The room I was in was always kept really clean and a great price for all of that. TV room was also fun to relax and meet the other guests
