I like the apartment layout, the location was close to Vector, and the bed was comfortable. BUT: 1. I had booked a twin room and when I got there it was a double. When I went back to ask for a twin, the guy blamed it on Hostelworld (although my email confirmation said twin) and initially said he didn't have any twin rooms spare. He did find one for me eventually though. 2. The window in our room wouldn't close, and it was INCREDIBLY loud all night - music blaring and construction. On a Monday!

We found that the service was not up to standard and our room was filthy.

Only good point was the location, very central- you definitely get what you pay for- bearable for a night stays- wouldn't have wanted to have stayed any longer. Was pretty disappointed, not very clean, very noisy- road works directly outside. Hostel reception staff were ok- bar staff could have been friendlier- female bar worker very rude. Lessons on how to talk to customers would be of benefit!!!

Tplace was very dirty. The showers weren't in very good condition and the shared dorms were very cramped. Having said that the staff were very friendly and helpfull.

We stayed in a very small room without any window and without air. The bed was damaged so we couldnt barely move at night. Woulndt stand to be there more than two nights.

It was rubbish. The communal area was huge and it only had a couple of couches. The internet signal was shocking. You had a little common area on your floor but it was too small to really do anything in and the staff were just rude. I wouldn't recommend the place if you're traveling on your own. Plus every morning you can hear rubbish vans emptying the bins and I know that isn't the hostels fault but I would of liked to know that before I arrived there.

Code on the security cards sometimes changed, so you had to go down to reception to get the card reset. When I checked in, had troubles with the key card. You had to go through one security door to get to the kitchen area, then another door to get to the dorm. The card wouldn't let me into the kitchen area. Wasn't really impressed how had to take my luggage back down to get it sorted. The dorm rooms were tiny. The locker I had couldn't be locked. The floor I was on, 1 shower was out of action

A screw up meant myself and my companion had to settle for being in different rooms despite booking together. Also, there seemed to be very poor system with the luggage room key. Due to the fact that someone else always seemed to have the key and have taken it with them to whatever place in the hostel they pleased, we were unable to access our luggage for most of the day. Not only that but it seemed anyone could ask for the key without checks to confirm they were staying in the hostel

My only criticism was that a group stayed up until after 4.00am( with their radio playing until then) right outside the room where I was intermittantly sleeping as the radio kept waking me up. Come on guys. Ive stayed in alot of hostels world wide, and I think midnight is late enough. I was on the fourth floor

Friendly helpful staff. Especially when our booking was wrong and we were put into two separate rooms (with other people!) Managed to get that sorted. Like the apartment-style set-up. My card wouldn't get me into my floor though, lucky someone was at the door to the stairwell to let me in! Pretty good for budget accommodation in the CBD - you won't get anywhere much cheaper than this & on short notice (about a month out I booked it)!

We had a great stay here! We were under the impression, though, that lockers were provided, but when we got there they turned out to be boxes that required you to bring your own lock. We had something stolen on the first night, but after that the staff offered to let us use the reception safe. We must have just had bad luck, as no one we talked to had ever had anything stolen there. It's definitely a very cool hostel, I recommend the mixed dorms- great way to meet people. Also- great staff!

Me and my friend were staying for 2 nights at this hostel, and they messed up our rooms and so we had to change rooms the second night, and our first room was very dirty and had spiders. All the bed covers and towels smelled unclean. Our second room was better but had no power plugs. The service was average, and some of the people working there seemed incompetent. Good location in the centre city, but that was about the only thing recommending it.

A lot of people who stay at this hostel are long-timers, meaning they've been staying at the hostel for a while, and they've gotten to know each other pretty well. If you aren't exactly a social person, it might be difficult to enter the circle.

i dont like the dry policy. i understand that more backpackers are doing it but i didnt want to have to drink in the bar. i felt like a few quiet ones and chilling out but i couldnt. it will stop me staying there are any backpackers that do it (well unless they all end up doing it then i have no choice). plus the t.v was not working which sucked but not so worried about that. but all in all a good stay.
