quite loud when you're on the second floor above the bar. don't go here for a good night's sleep. but the value for money is alright, and the staff are funny, very friendly and helpful. location is perfect, central and easy to find from the bus stations and britomart.

Okay for 18 year old party people, but not a real travellers hubb. Beds are poor, location right in the city centre.

I liked this hostel.. it is much more homely than the standard Nomad hostels. I love the dorm set up, and definately some where I could stay for a while!

In general it was okay, but we first booked a 4 bed dorm and when we arrived we were told that we were "upgraded" to a 8 bed dorm, because the 4 bed dorm didn't have a window. We took a look at the 4 bed dorm and it smelled horrible so we stayed in the 8 bed dorm. If I had known this before I would have booked another hostel. They could have given the information in the description.

Our private room was quite nice and comfortable, and it was nice having a separate communal kitchen for the units on Level 6 where we stayed. However there was a slit in the wall behind the cupboard where you could see directly into the next room and hear them as well. Location is nice and central, but there are a few unsavoury businesses right nearby, so I am glad I didn't plan on being out at night. Staff were really lovely and helpful.

The staff members were very helpful upon arrival and again on checkout. The rooms were comfortable and clean enough and the location of the hostel was great for me as i was there one night and getting the airport shuttle EARLY in the morning. The street is very noisey however until late into the night which is why I would probably give it a miss next time I am in Auckland.

The hostel is well located, but needs a deep clean and way more bathrooms. Adding some light bulbs to empty sockets would make life easier too. Friendly staff.

Nothing is clean, it takes ages to repair a broken lamp, there are no chairs to eat diner/breakfast, the area is really loud at night, and the lockers in the room are not safe. Even the doors are not safe, and the pass system works against you. I won't stay there again, there ar many other hostels in the city centre!

The hostel is in central location making it ideal for the airport bus, the city centre and the harbour. There is a certain amount of street noise but that's the price you pay for being central. The rooms are set around small apartments with their own kitchens and common area which was very sociable. The place is regularly cleaned but is looking a little tired and in need of an update. Wi fi is expensive but you can use your GG card at the other Nomads a few doors down.

I couldn't move in the room for discarded clothes, bags and electrical items! I think there were two couples (or very good friends) there with me, who'd booked beds but decided to sleep together in the bottom bunks. Makes for awkward feelings when you're getting ready in the morning and there's some spooning happening - I guess I'm just jealous! The room was very stuffy - no windows to open and there was a lot of noise from the bars downstairs - but my earplugs soon take care of that.
