Had a really great time during my stay at Nomads. I was instantly made welcome by the friendly staff and free BBQ that was on. The bar has different games and activities on every night and is a great place to meet other travelers - beer pong was a blast! It's located pretty much in the heart of melbourne, just a short walk away from the queen vic markets. A nice clean hostel but the kitchen was too small for my liking. Overall, a great place to stay while you explore the city.

Brilliant! Situated in an excellent location, close to both clubs, pubs and bars as well as the Queen Victorian Markets! Within walking distance (15-20 mins) to the Crown Casino too! Staff are friendly and hilarious - have a mixture of safety and fun as their number one priority! The themed bar nights are fantastic with relatively cheap prices and the actual dorms are basic but good - great value for money. Beds very creaky and location provides for a lot of street noise. But excellent place!

This property is in a good location if you aren't in a hurry or in Melbourne for a few days. The staff were generally poor - didn't tell us anything in regards to facilities available. The rooms were fine. I wouldn't stay here again but it was adequate

This is one of those places that the longer you stay the more welcome you feel. The place is ruled by an army of people working for accommodation, so defiantly feel like they own the place. As for the perminant staff, they vary from being terribly unfriendly for those who work in the morning, to incredibly helpful and welcoming that work on the nightshift. The rest of the facilities are in keeping with other Nomads - squeaky beds and quite a good bar.

This is a great location and friendly staff. Wasn't very clean and only one toilet per floor. Kitchen is small but ok for simple cooking. Not a lot of cups or glasses as long term backpackers stash them in their rooms. Great if you only want a place to stay and you like to party hard. Otherwise there are better places around for slightly more.

It was ok. The room was messy and smelly, but i guess thats not really Nomad's fault. The beds weren't good. When someone turned around it made a lot of noise! A lot of facilities, good location. If you're up for a party: excellent!

Nice and Clean Hostel with a nice Bar. Very friendly staff. Cleaned every Day. Very good Atmosphere Only bad things are : small kitchen (but with free pasta,rice,coffee...) and that no alcohol is allowed because of the bar!

This is a reasonable hostel. Pretty clean, average bathroom facitilies. The kitchen has all the things you need, but is about the third of the size needed for the hostel so pretty hard to cook yourself a good meal. Party hostel, great if you are young and like drinking. Loads of activities organized such as free BBQ, staff were brilliant and knew loads of stuff about the city. Is pretty loud at night and the beds are the squeakiest we have ever stayed in, but very comfortable pillows!

No lockers available. No sinks seperate from toilets to wash yourself. Loud hostel. Some staff was not very helpful, others were helpful and friendly.

Nice location, close to everything. There is free tea, coffee, rice and pasta in the kitchen, pretty nice for backpackers. Staff is very kind and helpful. There is a party in the bar every night and sometimes even a free BBQ.

Great hostel! Perfect mixture of friendly staff, day and night time activities, roof top and sunny back decking. The location is awesome too, walking distance to everything in Melbourne. A great hostel for making friends and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hostel with all the facilities plus a happy chilled out vibe :-)

I had two nights in Nomads. The first I didn't even use due to crashing at a friend's, but I was disappointed with the security of my stuff on that night. The only lockable area could only hold my laptop and the essentials. I would have preferred a full length for my bag. I stayed the second night in a 4ppl rm only to hear all of the partying 2flrs down thru the open window. Then there was the fire alarm at 230am and no apology or compensation when I checked out at 10. Staff was nice tho.

Requires a larger Kitchen to cater for the amount of clients. Staff especially behind the bar are awesome. Nomads is like a family when your away from your own. Make you feel welcomed and exceptionally helpful. Have already recommended to friends, family and other travelers. This hostel should be the model for all other hostels!!!

I stayed in two different rooms. The four bed dorm was great, clean and had a private bathroom and toilet. The 8 bed dorm was a bit messy and needed an urgent cleaning. The beds were ok and the dorms were equiped with lockers (don't forget your pad lock). The staff was awesome. I didn't book a room for a Friday night (don't do that in Melbourne) and it was impossible to find another bed in town. After 30 mins waiting in the lobby I got my bed. The atmosphere in the hostel bar was great!

The kitchen is tiny and you have to line up during busy periods to cook. The beds were unbearably squeaky. Spray some WD40 so everyone can get a good nights sleep it's not that hard. It was a daily occurrence finding my access card wiped because it was to close to my mobile or C.C's in my wallet. I met some really nice people though.

The kitchen is super super small

If you want peace and quiet. Don't come here! Party? come here. The "lounge area" is right next to the bar (separated by glass) and it goes off pretty much every night. The smaller rooms (4 bed ensuite) are on the ground floor and you can hear the bar area. For me the worst hostel ive stayed at. But dont think its trying to be anything else but a party hostel

The hostel is very modern and has everything you need for a short city stay. It would be better if the kitchen was a lot bigger and there is not enough room in the fridge. I had a room with an en suit and was a big plus as it only cost a few dollars more. The rooms only have a fan and could do with air con. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the bar was busy, but as there are a lot of long stay backpacks it’s more of a party night. The Sunday is a great day to meet people as they have a
