dirty rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, toilets very very noisy until late, not able to sleep. Kitchen is too small, at 6pm cooking is not possible. No local lights in the rooms or any small cupboard. No sink in the room, never seen the iron there. Always busy, the hostel seemed always be overcrowded. very squicky beds

Had a fairly bad experience in the end staying here. Mainly due to poor information or miscommunication of staff members.

Overall the hostel was good. There is a nice bar downstairs, friendly people working at the reception. The showers worked well and were clean enough, only some hanging space would be nice to hang your clothes. Only problem was that in our room the ventilator was not working and according to my room mate it was already broken for a couple of days and they didn't seem able to fix it.

Great location, kitchen is way to small for the amount of guests. Great bar and staff! Value for money is not really good. Dorms are pretty expensive and don't have any AC.

$45 a night was excessive. The staff were just other backpackers: uninterested, unhelpful and rude. Proper cleaning only took place once a week, tthe smell of rotting food pervaded the room as the staff failed to clear the bins. Towels were rented, Internet was $8 a night for a very poor speed. The cigarette machine didn't give change. The key card stopped 3 times, the staff blamed our phones besides happening at the same time to everyone. The location was good. $20 a night would have been ok.

I stayed 3 nights at the Nomads Hostel on A'Beckett street and felt I had payed way too much for what I was offered. $45 per night. I was told the price had gone up because of the tennis being on but had ultimately expected a better service. Upon arriving at 11 am I was notified that check-in wasn't until 2 pm. If we could not supply our own towels we had to pay $5 + $10 safety deposit and there was no free breakfast like most hostels are nice to offer. apparently they couldn't cereal at least.

I stayed in the hostel for new years eve. When I arrived to check in the fire alarm was faulty and I had to wait almost 1 hour to check in. I had difficulty finding the place, as a backpacker and being in Melbourne for the first time, I called the hostel to ask for directions. A male member of staff answered the call and had a separate conversation with a female in the background. Not very good customer service. When I finally checked in it felt like all the staff were interested in was my money

Location is good. Right inside of the inner city and 1 block away from the free city circle tram line. The place is more like a hotel rather than a hostel, and when this layout has to be separated in small dorm rooms, the air circulation can be very poorly vented. Shabby and separated restrooms and shower rooms without a proper rack to put your stuffs on. Tiny kitchen is always pact and crowded. Making things worse, you have to borrow a pan from the front desk using your stuff/cash as deposit.

Meh - You pay more for this hostel than for others, but you dont get more... I dont expect much from hostels, but a few things nagged me nonetheless. A lot of the toilets were constantly closed and the single fan in our room was broken and they didnt fix it for the whole of my stay. The only good thing about the motel was the cool staff.

The hostel is well located. Most parts of the CBD are within a footwalk. Although the hostel lacks especially good facilities. The washrooms always runned out of toilet paper, soap, or water(!). The staff was helpful when it came to the thing to do with your stay at their place but expect nothing more. Additionally, personal locers in the room and bedlamps where missed. Finally, we had several firealarms during new year. Yeah! Would not recommend that place.

Rooms were good and clean, though no decent sized lockers for luggage. Kitchen was very small. No hot water in the bathroom/toilet to wash and shave with. Fire alarm went off four times in three days, very sensitive to aerosols and/or smoking. Otherwise a good, basic hostel in a good location in the CBD. All the sites within walking distance or short tram ride.

Not sure why there has been some negative comments for this hostel, I've stayed at quite a few and this is hands down the BEST one. My room wasn't ready as I arrived early but the staff were very helpful and in getting it set up quickly. Facilities were great (kitchen a bit small though) and there always seemed to be someone cleaning in the hostel. Great bar and staff there were super nice. Really felt at ease in this hostel. Definitely worth a stay!
