The place is awesome if you really like hostels. We had a great time. Having said that the whole place smells a bit, we had a bit of trouble with bed bugs in our room and having the music pumping while you're eating dinner is a bit full-on and doesn't really let you have a chat with the peeps without yelling. It also means the TV has to be up really loud. Generally everyone is really friendly and It's in an awesome spot. If you aren't a massive fan of Brits though, you should probably avoid.

Typical Nomads, good if with friends and partying, a bit less if you are there by yourself and looking for some calm. But would definitely go back if with some buddies... and the staff is super friendly! Good atmosphere!

This hostel is in a good location and has lots going on but is a bit shambolic with a dirty and poorly equipped kitchen. But is good value for Sydney and a good place to meet people.

The hostel is in a great location, and it seems to be great atmosphere and people although I only stayed for one night. The ensuite bathrooms are potentially a good idea, but sharing with other people in this case just meant that they were pretty messy. I must admit that when I got there I got a free room upgrade so that was really great!

Really enjoyed my stay. Had a female dorm, clean, basic room with shower facilities. Staff real friendly to and $12 shuttle to airport was a great touch.

Very helpful girl on the travel desk, so I booked two trips with her. However, despite me saying clearly I did not want a party boat in the Whitsundays, this is what I ended up with. The Fraser Island trip was also badly run and clearly aimed at 18-21 year olds, not for me for the same reasons. I am 34 and more interested in the nature of the island than getting drunk every evening.

We didn't have very high expectations, because of the rewiews we had read, but it is okey if you are staying for one or 2 nights. We had a private room with private bathroom. The rooms are simple, a bed and a nightstand + some closet space, but you don't really need anything more, if you don't plan to be in your room that is. The private bathroom was not in our room, but in the hallway, and had an ok standard. The location is great, in pitt street not long from shopping and sigthseeing.

Cons: Rooms were very basic, no frills. Beds very uncomfortable - caused some back problems - and sounded like a trampoline very time you moved. Loudpeaker announcements in room at 9 p.m. was kind of irritating. Cockroaches in luggage storage room/basement, but I guess that's just part of traveling. Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't really use the kitchen, but it was large and well put-together. Seemed to be nightly organized activities. Great location near downtown.

We had an ensuite room, it doesn't say that the ensuite is a private bathroom that isn't attached. Ours was across the hall. Wasn't expecting that at all. However the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, great location.

I've been travelling around Australia for a few months now and stayed at Nomads in various locations. Sadly though, this one in Sydney was the worst I've stayed in. I thought the building and instalations were very old, and the rooms lacked windows and good ventilation. The staff was very nice though, I asked to change rooms at some point because the bathroom door wouldnt close, and they changed it for me right away.

I've stayed at 100's of hostels and this one was pretty bad. To be honest it has rad potential it just needs some better staff training, TLC to things such as that god forsaken elevator, and security. Communial kitchen was good. Wouldn't stay again though.
