We really enjoyed our stay at Nora's guesthouse. Apart from the owner being quite pushy and persistent in selling you all kinds of arrangements, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our evenings were Filled by singing songs accompanied by the guitarskills of the staff. Only the bathroom/toilet/shower was smelly and our mosquito-net had more than a few holes in it. The 2 day jungle treck was superb with Putra as our guide. We'd definetily stay here again.

Don't stay here. I don't know why people keep coming here. Nora isn't alive anymore and her a-hole son has taken over. They NON-STOP harass you about doing tours with them. They'll wake you up in the morning to ask you about doing a tour and they won't leave your room until you tell them tell them something. Their tours are insanely overpriced compared to shops that are 10 feet away. The staff could not care less about your stay. Just go somewhere else, there are 20 better places within 1 min

The owner Nora died before the summer and the character of the place has changed. They are more business than human focused... It has a nice common area to meet other travellers. The huts are a bit dark and could be cleaner. Location is ok. Local food in the restaurant is nice, not so much western dishes. Overall it is an ok place though there are better options around...

We loved our stay here! The staff are wonderful and always very helpful!

Staying at Nora's in Bukit Lawang was definitely one of our best stops during our Indonesia trip! Everybody gets along very well and it is superfun to hang out with the staff. You can book your jungle trekking (and everything else like transport etc.) directly through the hostel- super convenient :) P.S.: Hi Neila! Greetings from Austria :) Georg and Katie

Although you cannot complain on the cost of the hostel and therefore the services, if you don't want to book an excursion with them the man becomes VERY rude and obnoxious, "forgetting" your breakfast and making you wain an hour for it, adding things to the bill that you didn't have and throwing filthy looks left right and center, if you don't want to shop about for your trip to the jungle stay here im sure he will be lovely, if you want the cheapest price - stay in one of the 50 other hostels

Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Prices for the rooms were good. but the price's of private car and jungle tour are very high. seems that the all fixed price's of the trips and that is too bad for an great place like Bukit Lawang.

Brilliant hostel with very friendly staff and an atmosphere that would suit backpackers of any age. We planned on staying for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4 instead since it was so friendly... Food is delicious and the hostel arrange their own jungle treks for a good price (guides are brilliant - would recommend the two day trek as a minimum). They also arrange airport transfers from Medan airport.

Fantastic! We couldn't have a better stay in the rainforest. Donet made sure that we were very welcome and had a great time. The trek organised by Norah's family was great. Everything what you needed was there: food, Bintang and orangitans. Nothing to add. Thank you very much once again.
