Nord Hostel Reviews

When we arrived from the night train we had to wait for nearly two hours for staff to arrive despite being within their advertised opening hours. The hostel was rundown and bathroom and kitchen were filthy. Our passports were not checked and there were no staff in the hostel for almost the entire duration of our stay. We had paid for 4 nights but left after one night because we felt uncomfortable with the situation. Marsha was rude and aggressive in our subsequent e-mail communications.

Hostel looks as it could be very good normally and from the messages on the board it appears often it is really friendly, but whilst I was there we all felt ignored, the fridge stunk, kitchen was messy, toilets weren't cleaned (and waste bins were full to overflowing). Generally felt like you took the money and that was it.

A bit expensive but what a location ! 4 minutes away from the Hermitage. The only drawback is the noise at night from Nevski Prospect (motorcycles are LOUD in St-P). Great place to stay.

The location here is hard to beat. The staff do not keep regular hours so they can be hard to track down but otherwise there is a cosy feeling to the place.
