Room is OK and is fairly quiet, but the communal bathrooms and toilets weren't always clean. I also had a bit of an issue when paying: the amount that they wanted on arrival was not equal to the amount that Hostelworld said I needed to pay, due to them adding tax (although I am not even convinced they calculated it correctly). To their credit, it did say something vaguely to that effect on the hostel description page, what this means in plain English: THE RATES DO NOT INCLUDE VALUE ADDED TAX!

Fantastic location- right next to Chinatown, in the middle of the Italian sector, 20min walk to Fisherman's wharf.

the hostel was pretty good located near downtown and chinatown. The room was small. the shower and toilet on our floor were not clean.

It's well-situated. 10 minutes on foot from Union Square (city centre). Staff is a bit rude. Please, don't ask to wake up you in the morning. I did it twice, and never no-one got me up. I had tours organized and unless I had my own alarm-clock too on. There isn't breakfast.
