It's like staying in a friends house, Alex is very cooperative and you can rely on him if you have questions about your travel. Very well situated, in a nice neighborhood and you can walk to the Red Square, no need to take public transportation. Safe area with local restaurants, markets, even a starbucks if you're american.

I was the only guest for one night, and one of two for the other, so can't comment on the people I've met. But Alex and his cat are some of the best hosts you could wish for, really friendly and helpful about the city. They made me feel right at home. Wonderful!
