We enjoyed our stay and would go back as it is located in the historical area of Melaka. We where fortune to be staying Saturday night when the streets come alive with a vendor's market. When staying in room #1 be prepared for loud music from the shop below, I believe Saturday night is the only late night (11pm?) was not a problem for us. We arrived about 8 pm on Fri (no music) The host kindly took us for a short walk pointing out a few places to eat...Our absolute favorite - NancyWe enjoyed our stay and would go back as it is located in the historical area of Melaka. Our stay at the hostel is extremely unpleasant; due to extremely unpolite in-charge person. He sets his own rules and expect us to comply, i.e. we've being blame for LATE check-in. And, he unpolitely, reject a friend of us at front door being reason they don't allow visitor, by the way, the friend of us is just seeing us to the hostel without intention to step in the hostel. the place is quiet good actually, breakfast is cool. you get all day free access to coffee and tea. Zul & John were very cool and smiling all the time. although we arrived around 5AM while it was showering, we woke them up and they let us in that early. highly recommendedthe place is quiet good actually, breakfast is cool. you get all day free access to coffee and tea. The hostel is set in a 17th century dutch-built building, and is surrounded by old authentic shops and establishments, with lots of history and stories if you care to find out more. If you're lucky you might just meet Zul, who shared with us the exciting stories of his life and the inside history of Malacca around Jonker street. You'll also meet Thomson, who's exceedingly friendly and hospitable and loves it when you tickle his throat a little.
