Would recommend OX as a good place to stay if you are doing a tour with OX that starts early in the morning; good security with big lockers to use. Nice big kitchen and communal areas, and it is small which is good if you're not looking for a party hostel.

Definitely not a bad place. I can tell the hostel serves better the people who are going to go on a tour with this company and need to be up quite early. But if you are looking for a place to have fun, this place is pretty quite. The staff was nice and the breakfast was good.

To begin with, their description is pretty accurate. Very good hostel and for the price, you simply cannot ask for much more. The staff was really nice, good location, they offer lots of activities around town or out of town and you get breakfast serve every morning. Over all, I would definitely recommend OX Base Camp. I was going to stay a single night but base on my overall experience, I decided to stay an extra night.

We only stayed for 1 night here. And it was a nice place. The doorms are nice, but a little hot without fan. And one thing that I didn` t like was that theyre breakfast stars at 8:15, wonder why, is it because all the shuttles leaves around 8:00-8:15?

OX is a quaint and cozy hostel. The staff are friendly and are comprised of folks from around the world so you can get a local or touristic-perspective on the city. It's conveniently located not too far from the city center - and they provide a decent breakfast -- however those are pretty common to find in Antigua. I stayed at OX twice within a 5-day period and would recommend it. Decent price. Nice hostel. What more do you "need?"

A good substantial breakfast is provided. Loved the large thick towels, comfy pillows & each bed in the dorm has an individual curtain screen & reading light-great extra little touches. Very friendly & helpful staff. Fairly quiet location.

Great value for money. It would have been better if the reception is not always absent.

Good little hostel, comforatable beds with curtains to block out light, own lamp for each bed & plug to charge phones & cameras. Great breakfast too! Quite enjoyed the chilled out atmosphere! Thanks!

Good location - with only a 5 minute stroll through busy streets to the main plaza. The dorms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The free Wi-Fi in the common areas is fast and reliable. The staff are helpful and accommodating (they let us check in at 6am after an early morning flight so we could shower and sleep). The free traditional breakfast cooked by the beautiful housekeeper (so sorry we didn't get her name) was AMAZING! We didn't hesitate to rebook here for our return to Antigua.

It's a great hostel, and it's not boring at all. Actually, it depends on you if your stay is rather boring or exciting. I loved the rustic style of the hostel, the freindly and helpful staff and I really enjoyed to relax in the hostel. Thanks!

Nice hostal, friendly staff. You're invited to treat this place like your home. It has a homely feel to it. Homely in a student/adventurous kind of way.

The rooms were great. The common spaces were kind of gloomy. The tours offered are all awesome. The showers only worked sometimes, as in only sometimes would the water come out at all and when it did on was chilly. The staff don't seem to know much about the area. Overall good experience, but there are much better hostels in the area.

Really a cool place. Nice wooden rooms and good dorms. And especially climbing the volcano with the attached agency is awesome. Great guides, good gear, something I will never forget.

Small hostel (only one dorm and 2 privates). The walls of the rooms are made of wood, which gives the place a characteristic look, but it is very noisy. Wifi and hot showers, but the bathroom and the living area are a bit worn down. Ok place to stay if you booked a trip with ox.

Comfortable beds, didn't use the shower, didn't spend much time here the one night I stayed. Their tour prices are a massive ripoff.
