air conditioning is not that effective sometimes. Would also help if there is a large mirror in the room.

Some of the staff are quite friendly, others not. When I gave them my laptop and money envelope for savekeeping, they taped them together with wide scotch tape which, when removed, left gobs of sticky residue all over my computer. When I remonstrated, they said, "Use some alcohol." As of March 2013, the building across the street is being taken down by hand, meaning lots of dust.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged for transportation to the bus station when the bus pickup service failed to turn up at the hostel. The in-house drivers are always ready for a game of pool. They are pool sharks though haha!

Bathroom flooded twice, and had a broken fridge. I'm pretty low maintenance so told staff at checkout about problems so they could fix it for next guest. While waiting for my bus i was approached by the owner with the towel i had used to mop up the bathroom floor myself. I was asked to pay more than 1/2 the price of the room for ''ruining'' this towel. I refused and was called a bad person and irresponsible. Isn't it irresponsible to check someone into a room that isn't working? Never again.

I stayed in 2 separate rooms. One twin room which was really nice (lovely views of the noisy building site opposite) I stayed an additional night in a single which is the worst room I have stayed in durIng the 3 months I have travelled. It wasnt cen tall enough for me to stand up in. Damp musty and very dark. Not okay

The location was decent as it is close to the palace and museum though it is a bit of a walk to the riverside area. The room was nice. The staff were great - I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night and was able to buy beer and chat with the fellow on duty and the 24hr reception is handy for late arriving flights.

Okay guesthouse is very helpful regarding trips and getting visas for Vietnam. The location is very good and if you need a tuck tuck, they will make sure you get a secure driver that won't try to scam you! The rooms are very clean and have comfortable beds. The cable television is also good for when you want to relax.

Ok is a good summary - our stay wasn't amazing, but wasn't awful either. We had a nice big corner room with lots of light, but other rooms have windows opening on to the corridor. Quite a long climb up narrow stairs if you're on the top floor. Smell of sewage in the wet room bathroom on one day - the staff did have a look, but it still persisted. Good menu of food but staff could be friendlier and not much communal space. Location quite good - 10 mins to the palace, but not close to nightlife.

Good location (away from the main hustle and bustle but still a short walk and very nicely positioned near the river and main attractions), helpful staff, a sociable kitchen/lounge area downstairs, and most things you need help with at the front desk. A good and reliable option.

Good location and decent fan rooms, 3 PCs you can use if you don't have your own laptop, helpful staff booked us onward bus travel and our bags were looked after when we went off for a couple of nights.

Friendly staff, busy place with lots of people milling about. Staff helpful and gave options on things to do but not pushy about it.

When I first showed up they didn't have the room I booked so offered me a 3 bed room instead of a one bed. Then asked if I was willing to pay more because It was a more expensive room. Eventually we agreed that I would pay the same as what i booked, but this still left a bad impression. You make a mistake and want me to pay for it? It's the problem with some locally run businesses. Foreigners are walking wallets. But the place was nice and I got quite a few good nights sleep.
