I stayed for 3 nights at Oki's Inn female dorm (4 beds/room). The place is really close from the station and Gion area, and there are lots of food/mini market around. The place is run by a young Japanese couple, very friendly and speaks very good English (which makes everything so much easier), and they are very helpful too. The house is a traditional Kyoto style house, perfect for those looking for a more authentic Japanese experience. Really worth the price :)

OKI's Inn was a great place to stay. It had a traditional Japanese feel and the owners Taka and Yuka were the best hosts. They helped me with bike rentals, recommendations on what to do or where to eat and very accommodating! I wish them all the best of luck. The area is easy to get to, the place newly renovated and very clean, but watch out for low doorways!

We stayed at OKI's Inn four nights and loved it. It is owned by a young married couple. We felt like we were their guests in their house rather than customers. They let us check in early because we were exhausted from our overnight bus ride and helped us make plans for things to do/see. The hostel is a good place to chill. The kitchen area is good if you want to cook your own meals. A wide range of people were staying at the hostel: people in their twenties, older adults, and families.

OKI's Inn is a charming hostel. Though only small, it it immaculately clean and has all the facilities you need, including a kitchen, and nice lounge with some guide books, and items for rent at a cheap price, including towels and bicycles. The people who work there are extremely friendly and willing to help you out. The hostel and surrounding area are secure and pleasant. Highly recommended!

The owners, Taka and Yuka, are very nice and friendly. They welcome us with frank service mind and are willing to help us everything that we asked for. The hostel itself also very nice with warm atmosphere. Although it is a small place, but they can manage it well and cleanly. Also, it is located very near subway and bus stop, so we can travel around Kyoto very easily. I would recommend to others and will definitely go back if I have a chance going to Kyoto again.

Great place! Taka and Yuka are _so_ nice! Very convenient to the subway, or a nice walk from downtown. I stayed in the dorm and it was clean and quiet, despite the paper walls. There are a lot of Japanese guests, so I got to try out my fledgeling Japanese skills ^_^' . The kitties are pretty but very shy. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Kyoto and I hope to stay there again!

Oki's Inn is a kawaii place to stay! The design is so nice and the owners are as lovely as can be. Some more cutlery and crockery would be a bonus for the kitchen facilities but everything else is A+

I'm very happy to stay at Oki's Inn for two nights. Like this wooden house on market street which blends perfectly well in the heritage city, Kyoto. The owners are so friendly and give very good recommendations for foods and places of interest. I definitely would recommend this place to others. I like their cats too :)

Our stay at Oki's Inn was superb. The 100 year old Japanese house was so full of character, it was like going back in time. Taka & Yuka were the most wonderful of hosts, they were most approachable and frendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The epitome of japanese courtesy. Our 3 night stop there was the highlight of our Japan tour and hopefully we will be re-visiting again sometime in the future.

lovely inn within walking distance of gion and yasaka shrine and park. great atmosphere (100 yrs old traditional house) and great hosts. thank you taka and yuka for making it a great stay :) will love to come back on our next trip. the fact they speak english also helps a lot. only downside is the washroom and bathroom are outside (not very convenient on very chilly days) but it's very clean and will not defer us from coming back again!

We just want to say "thank you" to Taka and Yuka again. We understand it takes a lot of hard work to keep everything running in sharp conditions, surely, you two have achieved it! Your helpfulness and kindness are incredibly heart-warming. We must thank you for providing such a great place for visitors like us! Next time when we visit Kyoto, Oki's Inn will be our first choice, definitely.

Lovely couple who owned the hostel! Could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Atmosphere and chill out area was really nice, cute market on the road of the hostel, beds were really comfortable, only slight bad point is there is only one shower and you have to go outside to get to the bathroom!!

The couple that run the inn are beyond fantastic. They are extremely accomodation and go out for their way too assist you. Our room was very spacious, however our room was directly on the facing the undercover market place which had elevator style music playing till 2200 and we would be woken by the shop keeps every morning at about 6am. Because the roof was shared with the market we go no natural light. The facilities were very clean and the common kitchen and living area was very spacious.

We had a fantastic stay at oki's. The location is perfect, close to everything including the subway. The property has a traditional style with a lounge area to meet fellow travellers or just chill out. The service and was astonishingly good, the hosts are both fluent English speakers which makes communication a breeze, we were able to get great tips for places to go around the area as well. Highly recommended!

We had a brilliant stay at Oki's Inn! The location was great for exploring the northern temples of kyoto and eating in the Gion district late at night. The owners were very accommodating and recommended some great restaurants- we got to try poisonous blowfish (fugu) infused sake! Would definitely recommend for an authentic machaya.

No noise curfew and very thin walls meant lots of noise disturbance late into the night.
