Great location, very secure and clean place! The staff is also very helpful and friendly. The cafe Yours Truly which share the ground level with the hostel has a great vibe and nice people.

Beds and bathroom were really good and clean. Breakfast was also great at the coffee place downstairs. The hostel has a good vibe if you're traveling with friends or boyfriend but if you're a solo backpacker you probably won't meet many people because the common area most used is the coffee shop/bar and usually the groups just sit together so there's no much interaction

Pros: - The staff were extremely nice and helped me decide how to best spend the 4 days I had. They made calls, booked trips and were genuinely interested in hearing opinions of trips afterwards. - It's a 5 minute walk to Long Street. - After returning from an excursion, there is need to worry about going out for dinner. Just go downstairs for some great pizza and sandwiches. Cons: - The water pressure was horrible and trying to get hot water for a shower was very difficult. Cons:

the dorms are quit small, but the place is very welcoming...nice and helpful staff, good breakfast, and easy to get in touch with others! Had a great stay!

Best hostel we've stayed in on our whole trip! Really fun atmosphere and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast and good WiFi and our rooms were cleaned everyday. Hot showers and super comfy beds and all rooms were very secure. Can't fault it!

Absolutely loved my stay here! The place was clean and the staff very friendly. There are several restaurants around the hostel and Long Street is just a short walk away. Not to mention the beds, they were very comfy with warm duvets and two pillows. The only downside I can think of is that this is a big hostel, so for me it was harder to meet people outside my dormroom than in smaller hostels. But I met great people in my dormroom, so it wasn't really a problem.

More a hotel than a backpacker with affordable prices. Staff is very friendly and there is a room with couches where people can watch movies. Downstairs is a restaurant with awesome coffee, bread, sandwiches and the probably best pizza of South Africa. You get a R20 voucher for each night you stay at the backpackers. Unfortunately there is no backpackers ambience. So great place to stay, as long as you are not looking for friends or new people.

What a great location in Cape Town… very short walk/ bus/ drive to any and all attractions. The staff is always there andfriendly. They do a good job keeping the place clean and well running. Best of all is the attached bistro cafe that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The prices are very friendly and the sandwiches are excellent (try the DON). There is a good chill atmosphere and a lot of locals frequent the cafe so there is always somebody new to meet. I would stay here again hands down.

one of the best hostels i ever stayed in. Breakfast served, beds made every day, super clean and great staff BBQ, firepit, with the Yours Truely coffee shop mingling with the locals, view of the mountains, eateries, shops, busses outside the door, tours and other activities. All rooms have ensuite baths and TV. Individual lockers in beds and large lockers in room. Only neg is the lighting. Just one sad lightbulb at the ceiling, In my room, only 1 bed with reading light.

Clean facilities, a really young and vibrant atmosphere, a young and friendly front staff you get to know, and really interesting people -- Once in Cape Town is the perfect hostel for young travelers, either traveling together or solo. There's a bar right downstairs that has music and crowds almost every day. It's loud, but really lovely, adds a really great atmosphere to any stay there. The wifi isn't great, but it exists, which is pretty sweet. Overall, really excellent experience.

ONCE in Cape Town has a great vibe and is located where you want to be. The night I stayed there, I needed to get some work done so I chilled on the couch and met a bunch of super cool folks. There's definitely a communal vibe (one of the guys staying there made lamb curry for a bunch of people) and others were sharing wine etc. I'd definitely return.

Once in Cape Town is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Super clean, nice atmosphere, good wifi, cheap prices. The dorms are very fresh, everything looks new, and all dorms have their own bathroom and daily cleaning. They not only fold the bedding but the toiletpaper(!) Tasty breakfast (croissant/muffin, juice and coffee) is included. Kitchen is very clean. Computers and wifi for free. Good safety lockers. And all this for a super low price. Thanks Once for a great time in Cape Town!

This hostel was an absolute joy to stay in. the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, the rooms were top quality and the bar/cafe perfectly priced. Additionally, the inclusive breakfast is delicious. I cant wait to go back to cape town and will definitely stay at Once when i do.

Overall, great place to stay. Four bed dorms are very small, but the beds are comfortable. Lock your stuff in the lockers, it only took one night for some of my money to go missing. The doors have coded locks not keys, so anyone who has the code can easily get into the room (so again, lock your stuff). The included breakfast is nice. Staff is overall very friendly. Close to Long street, but not as loud.
