Great location, reasonable price (considering that Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world). Very clean hotel.

Very good ho(s) tel in excellent location close to the Inaricho subway station. Daily roomkeeping and excellent cleaning. Rooms a little small and dryer without enough power. Except those not so important points everything was very good. Recommended. Except those points

The hostel really should have a community room apart from the corner behind the counter where it was very cold and one was told to be quiet from 11 pm on.

I always have a great stay here! The location is really great- close to Ginza subway and close to the main Ueno station with a walk. The staff are very nice and extremely helpful and there is a lot of great info on the bulletin boards and table near the kitchen. Thank you again for a great stay (even with all of the snow!!)!

Fantastic staff members who are reluctant to help. Guaranteed to have a brilliant time in Tokyo due to the variety of ideas staff can offer, and its location. However, despite members of the dorm, it was difficult to meet others due to the lack of vibrance in the common room.

Very convenient hostel. Staff are helpful, friendly and have good information. This is the third time that I have stayed there and I find that there are plenty of restaurants, cafés,and convenience stores close by. The kitchen, laundry and WiFi are really appreciated.

The Oak Hotel is a great place to stay in Tokyo. The staff are so helpful and it is so convenient being on the Ginza subway line and on the Yamanote line. I used to live in Ibaraki so it is also great to be so close to Ueno so I can head north really easily as well. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. I recommend the Japanese style rooms as I think they are the most comfortable, but any room is good. Excellent value for money.

One of the staff members wasn't very helpful, to the point of being quite rude. Wi-fi didn't work on any of the floors, and only barely worked in the lobby. Location is very convenient though.

The staff was very friendly and obliging. On the black board are a lot of useful information. The hostel is not easy to find but with the reservation you get a description to the hostel. One demerit: in the rooms were everywhere hairs... neither from the previous guests or charwoman. Good connection to metro and JR.

Really great place near the station, very friendly and helpful staff! They actually have an elevator (travelers w giant luggage appreciate this part)

I was disapointed by the general value of the hotel. Everything seems old, the front door, the elevator and the rooms. The staff need to be a little bit welcoming. For the rooms (double and twin) : The Heater did not heat the room and was making a loud noise. It was hard to sleep. The pillows were hard, no yukata in the double room. The flashlight did not work. There were mold on the washbasin. Only classic toilet, no washlets (ウォシュレット). Really small room, not enough place for our luggage.

The Oak Hostel is located in Ueno, close to the metro, in a beautiful and useful position. The staff is kind, nice, friendly and helpful. The Hostel is very good and clean. My room was a single with a private bathroom and it was fantastic. Perfect place to visit Tokyo.

Looks like it was formerly a business hotel turned hostel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Location is near Uneo where you can get on the yamanote line which will take you to all the tourist spots. It is near a subway station too. There was a small kitchen with only 1 washer/dryer, but a laundry place is nearby. We also sent clothes to Australia from the post office nearby which was really easy. Good spot for couple wanting a private room/bathroom. Maybe not so good for solo travellers.
