Come and enjoy our cosy, friendly hostel in the heart of Oban! We've got cool communal areas with loads of character, a great kitchen, lots of strong hot showers, and lovely wide dorm beds in our sunny, spacious dorms. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
Welcome to the Oban Backpackers Experience... we've got lovely friendly enthusiastic staff that are always happy to advise you on where to find Oban's hidden gems. We even run day tours; we're that keen to get you enjoying the sights and delights! Plus a great central location, spacious sunny dorms with the biggest, comfiest bunks in Scotland, lots of strong hot showers, a fantastic lounge room with plenty of cozy couches, free all-day tea, coffee and hot chocolate, an open fire and a pool table, free WiFi, a huge communal kitchen which is great for socializing... and no hidden charges! Enjoy the complimentary breakfast of home made scones, cereal, fruit juice and toast. The beds are made up for you and towels are available to hire for £1.
Oban Backpackers is in the heart of Oban, a bustling seaside town on Scotland's breath-taking west coast. As both the 'seafood capital of Scotland' and the 'gateway to the isles', Oban offers fresh, locally caught seafood and easy access to the inner and outer Hebrides. Castles, Ceilidhs, distilleries, boat trips, live music, outdoor adventures like diving and sea kayaking, some of the best views in Scotland... Oban has it all!
Oban Backpackers has bunk beds in seven dormitory rooms, sleeping a total of 54. Our smallest room is 6 beds, and our largest is 12 beds. We also have private rooms in various configurations (singles, triples, doubles, twins etc). All bathrooms and kitchens are shared, however from summer 2011 there will be additional private ensuite rooms available.
All beds are made up for you with two pillows, duvet and sleep sheet. Towels are available to hire for £1 and the showers are available 24 hours.

Latest Review
This was the second time I stayed with Oban Backpackers (private double en-suite) and once again I was extremely satisfied with the facilities and the staff. Generally, this Backpackers is a great value for money, I would say, that sometimes it´s even better to stay with them than with some of the B&Bs. You have fully equipped kitchen available to you with some basic breakfast stuff in the fridge. Everything is clean and you always close to everywhere.
